LA-4A – Levelled [DELFT00X]

Raw analog acid-heavy tracks on this new label called DELFT. The city known for its Delfts Blauw (and the little known fact, the city where I-F recorded many of his classic acid and electro tracks). First release is the 00x release by LA-4A
Magic Mountain High live @ As You Like It (San Francisco) 26.05.2013
John Heckle – Baiyun Mountain EP [MOS020]

The Baiyun Mountain EP is John Heckle’s debut appearance on MOS Recordings. Brit Heckle has more than established himself as a lone sonic explorer thanks to LPs and EPs on labels like Chicago’s Mathematics and Holland’s Creme Organization. Across three more tracks here, he lays out his dense and textured vision of house music once more. Opener ‘Cactus Jack’ is a writhing thing with coarse snares, wild acid gurgles and plenty of paranoid synth lines. ‘Birds With Vertigo’ is another gauzy affair where every bit of sound is filled with fuzz, analogue rawness or splintered percussion. It’s intense and intriguing at the same time before final and title track ‘Baiyun Mountain’ goes a little deeper, with springy metallic synths, ticking percussion and a supple bassline all wrapping around each other into a controlled cacophony of sound.
Elec Pt.1 – A Groove EP [AACID006]

Andreas Gehm returns to Abstract Acid with another series of dark and demented basement jams. A Groove EP features six tracks of his signature style so you know what to expect its no frills, no nonsense, straight up jack your body business, made for those who still love the sound of that little silver box.
Rodney Bakerr – RH019 (The Lost Tracks) [RH019]

The lost Rockin’ House finally gets released officially. 4 proper acid tracks from the golden age of house music. Previously only a handful of whitelabels have been floating around.
Alden Tyrell – Some House / Wurk It [CJFD019]

Alden Tyrell is back with a new Clone Jack For Daze. A double A-side release with modern jack tracks that nod to Chicago’s tradition of making effective and fun tracks for the floor. These two tracks with a little jack nostalgia that will do the job! Mr Tyrell delivering in top form.
Halvtrak – Dust Under Bridges EP [DBA013]

Finland’s Halvtrak joins Don’t Be Afraid’s burgeoning family for his debut EP. Across four tracks, Scandinavia’s latest musical export explores the house sound of Chicago via Tampere, offering four outstanding dancefloor options with a unique and very personal twist, whilst touching on some familiar UK-centric tropes.

Echo 106 – Infernal Regions [LXRC014]

Lux Rec presents the second appearance of Echo 106 on the label. The two brothers descended into Infernal Regions to witness torturing flames, black magic woods, seas of damned souls and ice cold bodies. So brave, although not without any fear, they went close enough to sense such pains themselves. Carving five songs that depict their gloomy journey to an extent that, as the last song says, all is heard indeed.
Gherkin Jerks – Alleviated presents The Gherkin Jerks [ML9016CD]

The original 12” vinyl releases of Stomp The Beat and 1990 were two “Holy Grail” releases of Chicago House as they were only available for a short time before Gherkin Records went into inactive status in around 1991. At the time Larry Heard chose to not disclose the fact that he was the producer behind the Gherkin Jerks EPs. The two releases were a concept of experiments where he dove deeper into the equipment and do some creatively different tracks from his Mr. Fingers sound. These two legendary EPs have been heavily influential on other artists to this day. Often sampled or referenced they are true house classics and still amaze 25 years after their creation. Also on this album three bonus tracks, which are from the same Gherkin Jerks sessions but never released as such. Psychotic Fantasy was on the Dance 2000 pt. 2 album and Ecstasy is the full original take which makes its first appearance here. Reznaytor is an exclusive track for this release, never available before.
Raheem Hershel – Gotta Have The Pokey [CRCLASSICS001]

Bam, here’s some sounds from Danny original dirty rotten meek meek boys. In case you were late to the party and missed this one the first time around, here’s a second chance to nab this timeless piece of Ghetto House that’s being caned by some of your favorite DJ’s left and right of centre to this very day. A decade old and this shit’s still off the chain. Eight deep and rough jacktrax by Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt! Very minimal & obscure. Nice for Chicago house lovers.
Anaxander – The Adventures Of My Aniseed Lollipop [LT036]

This time a change of sound for the Local Talk crew… no retro 90’s korg organs and vocal samples, but some straight machine funk with acid basslines building up the tension coming from Anaxander.
Andy Vaz – I’m Not From [CHIWAX002LTD]

Andy Vaz with his second release on Chiwax. Kicking off with a chunky resounding kicks and some soft 808 congas, Andy drops a subtle bassline then plays with some very minimal percussion and ethereal sounds, before letting the subtle vocal samples permeate as the track gradually increases in its complexity as more percussion and synth parts are added even though the overall tone remains satisfyingly repetitive, deep and intriguingly organic. The flip uses the same kind of warm percussion, adding smatterings of acid cut with panning and wild unusual chords and tones that grab the mind just to take it to the side before unexpectedly swiftly in the other direction. The final track has a mixture of samples giving a clue to the Detroit influence, while clearly stating out the German craftsmanship as one key force of the worlds motorisation, before descending into laid back acid over warm kicks and ticking hats complimented by yet more ethereal chords and stabs from bass and lead. There is nothing about this that’s boring or cliché and though this isn’t from Detroit, a lot of the inspiration clearly is. This is a release with some serious low tempo depth and skill, taking the feel what’s great about America’s midwest with a well considered European approach, definitely the best of both worlds….

Murphy Jax – Teleport: Echo City [CHIWAX002LP]

Murphy Jax delivers a fresh full length EP entitled “Teleport : Echo City”, via the Frankfurt based Chiwax imprint. The album embraces a variety of styles, ranging from Chicago House, Classic Deep House, Movie Theme style cuts and raw Acid workouts. The mood of the records goes from child like melodies to dark, hypnotic and brooding synth heavy tracks.
Jax tells us the story of the album “Imagine a pre-apocalyptic generation of robots on a planet of machines. This is the last generation before the big war against the darkness, slowly coming from space. Some groups are fighting each other in chaos, others party before everything seems to end and lots of them don’t know – yet, but they all dream of Echo City. The one and only safe point, founded by Dr. Nigel Echo in the deep, cold and blue core of the planet. Dreams, desires, rebellion and chaos. They´re all going to fight the coming darkness, united by the prince of nanomagica. Taking place at several different locations, we are looking into the last hours before it all begins and ends at the same time.”
Operator Tracey / Perseus Traxx – Nothing To Do With Us / Across The North Sea [F-Flash004]

Unlike most other labels, Future Flash is identified by a medieval style wax seal bearing the label’s logo, meaning the records can only be played on one side. As such they are highly sought after collectors items and vanish from the market place very quickly. All vinyl comes stamped with the wax seal, and an ink stamp detailing the Artists and tracks, all contained within a paper sleeve and a disco bag. The fourth release includes two tracks by mysterious Operator Tracey and label man Perseus Traxx.
