Elektronische Sequenz Proleten – The Heart Of A Man, The Desire Of A Monster EP [LESPOINTS015]

Elektronische Sequenz Proleten is the new project of Nicola Kazimir and Walid El Barbir -both are integral members of the Les Points collective based in Zürich. “The Heart Of A Man, The Desire Of A Monster EP” is their debut release under this moniker and balances somewhere between genre bending Acid-Techno and EBM. E.S.P. has no particular genre specialization in mind – but wants to explore a diverse, wide and mature range of sonic compositions in the next couple of years.

Biochip – Synthase [CPU01001110]

Central Processing Unit welcomes Biochip with their debut release ‘Synthase’. Eight tracks of analog electro and acid techno, all recorded live. Very much of the Selected Ambient Works Vol. 1 ilk. Beautifully noisy, highly melodic and raw, with those emotional mid nineties IDM tendencies that very few successfully capture. Biochip are Melissa Speirs and Julian Kochanowski from Montreal, Canada. Listening to Synthase you can tell they are huge fans of vintage analogue synths, magnetic tape and drum machines; their sound has a reassuring warmth and human feel to it.

This is latest release by London duo Dark Circles on their own vinyl imprint DC Trax, harnessing the full force of their influences of acid, techno, house and rave directly for the dancefloor. ‘Lariat’ is a acidic psychedelic spoken word odyssey with an incredible breakdown. This is accompanied by a remix NYC Bunker dj Justin Cudmore. ‘Mandy’ on the B side takes us back to 1993 the height of rave and includes life changing question for a certain young lady.

LostSoundBytes – Rusty Tractor [DMRD006]

LostSoundBytes throws us by force into the deep end of a poorly lubricated engine with this 5 tracks mini album. Hear the dirty mechanical rumble of an old abandoned tractor that LostSoundBytes has just hot wired and driven off with, leaving road kill on his way. Driving fast or slow, you may ask. Who cares ! For our beneluxian shaman puts the pedal to the metal destroying the speakers on the way with Rusty Tractor. A certain vision of combustion by our mechanic LostSoundBytes : saturated rhythms on beaten up drum machines dragging us between Brussels and Paris.

Perseus Traxx – How the Mighty Fell [SBOX009]

Perseus Traxx makes his Schrödinger’s Box debut with a 4-track EP of experiments forged in the depths of Northern England. Pristine plateaus and eerie sweeps cover the entire first side, a Perseus Traxx from 2090, shimmering in and out of phase within a murky acidic landscape. Introspective and thoughtful throughout. Timothy J Fairplay finishes off the final quarter with a summer-garden Techno banger.

The B-side keeps it rolling with Greek artist KSTS’ wicked Electro on his vocoder-driven tune: – Three Hundred Dark Times’. Closing out the collection is Alavux (born in Serbia, living in Macedonia), another true Electro master delivering a banger called – Bender’, that leaves absolutely no questions.
