Rhyw – Emulsion Steps [FAM02]

Fever AM is coming up with a 4 track EP by Rhyw (also one half of Cassegrain). He presents a different side of himself while reinforcing his approach to techno. This EP is directed at the dance floor while still maintaining his signature sound design and raw sound combining broken beats and subtle melodies.

Cassegrain – ARCS-02 [ARCS002]

The second release on Arcing Seas by label heads Cassegrain. This new material presents the duo’s very individual approach to tonality within the techno framework, combined with a subtle tribal influ-ence. Maintaining their aim, they keep things exciting for the club as well as sonically. Label info: Arcing Seas is an anagram of Cassegrain. It started out as a secret alias, releasing a couple EPs on Our Circula Sound. The secret was less well kept after the duo appeared at Berghain under this name. A year later, after deciding to start a label, it finally made sense to bring the two together.

Cassegrain – Blood Distributed As Pure Colour [PRG036]

Since Cassegrain entered the techno consciousness back in 2010 with the final artist 12? on Kevin Gorman’s Mikrowave label, the Greco-Austrian pairing of Alex Tsiridis and Huseyin Evirgen have carved out their own corner in the world of foreboding, bassline driven, deep techno. The title track’s power electronics fall somewhere between a Regis, British Murder Boys and Donato Dozzy production, while the focus of “Hexagon Fifteen” is steely ambience, oblique drums and ghostly textures. The final track, “Yokai”, is what real Prologue fans will associate with most thanks to its floating hypnotisms and extreme feedback loops.

Cassegrain – Tiamat [PRG030]

Prologue with a double pack delivering 6 tracks of deep trippy dark techno. German duo Cassegrain take the name for their latest release Tiamat from the Babylonian chaos monster. If anything, though, this six-track EP is the embodiment of their take on dub-techno after Hüseyin Evirgen and Alex Tsiridis have buffered out the edges of a heretofore scabrous discography — chaos has very little to do with it.

CASSEGRAIN - Painter Palette EP (Front Cover)

M_Rec Ltd is proud to welcome on board Cassegarin, Greek-British producer Tsiridis and Berlin/Vienna based composer and producer Evirgen. Both interested in exploring the territories where dark, raw techno meets UK-influenced sounds. On this new vinyl for M_Rec LTD, they bring two original tracks and a remix by Ed Davenport.
The A side opens with A Painter Of Modern Life, a track laying the perfectly disturbed rhythm of modern life. A sequence of hypnotic techno where the rhythms are never heavy, the sounds antiseptics. Around this base, a brilliant and affective melody emerges. A touch of class that only few can sustain. Completing the A side there’s a remix by Ed Davenport. He throws the original track into a vortex of syncopated rhythms and deep atmospheres: the groove that comes out is amazing.
On the B side Cassegrain showcase one track. Palette is true techno, with its rhythm straight and direct. There is no stopping, even with soft sounds rising slowly from deep below. Everything transforms into a pleasant trip, exciting and alive.

Cassegrain stands for a concave mirror and a secondary convex mirror. But on Prologue, Cassegrain stands for the new excellent duo (Huseyin Evirgen, Alex Tsiridis) with the clear direction to fulfill Prologue´s modern sound architecture in best form. Brilliant techno tracks with deepest dub feelings and enriched synth structures build a phantastic world of liquid sound relives.
