Cassegrain – Blood Distributed As Pure Colour [PRG036]

Since Cassegrain entered the techno consciousness back in 2010 with the final artist 12? on Kevin Gorman’s Mikrowave label, the Greco-Austrian pairing of Alex Tsiridis and Huseyin Evirgen have carved out their own corner in the world of foreboding, bassline driven, deep techno. The title track’s power electronics fall somewhere between a Regis, British Murder Boys and Donato Dozzy production, while the focus of “Hexagon Fifteen” is steely ambience, oblique drums and ghostly textures. The final track, “Yokai”, is what real Prologue fans will associate with most thanks to its floating hypnotisms and extreme feedback loops.

Edit Select – Phlox [PRGLP006]

Scottish producer Tony Scott graces Prologue for the first time with a debut album under the Edit Select guise – now as established a name as his old Percy X work was. The Munich label is cultivating quite the reputation for techno album projects, with excellent longplayers from Mike Parker, Echologist, Dino Sabatini and of course Voices From The Lake in recent times and we can add Phlox to that pile. The Scotsman’s collection of mesmerising and sometimes big-room techno productions is a perfect match for the Prologue aesthetic, pitched perfectly between moments of emotional ambience and “hypnotic monsters for the dance floor”. Look out for a new rendition of “Bauer”, which appeared on the Berghain 03 Mix CD and the Dino Sabatini collaboration “Survivors Of The Pulse”.

Echologist – Storming Heaven [PRGLP005]

Beat Pharmacy man Brendon Moeller delivers his fourth full-length, his first since 2011. In typical fashion, there’s a twisted, druggy intensity to the music, which flits between psychedelic electronica (see opener “The Frequency of Love” and vaguely tropical “Stepping Out”), tough, acid-tinged techno beatscapes (“Guilty Pleasure”), dub-influenced sludge (the excellent title track), and dubstep-influenced industrial spookiness (“Deep Fried”). For all the murkiness on display, there are moments of startling beauty and almost alarming clarity, with the samba shuffle and sun-flecked melodies of “Tricks of the Shade”, and picturesque, humid “Lost” standing out.

The Essentials of Techno! It’s been twelve years since the first and last Mike Parker album called “Dispatches”. 12 years later, Prologue is very excited to host the second album from Mike and this time it’s all about techno performed as a kind of ritual. Let us open the secrets of Mike Parker’s “Lustrations”. The title has multiple meanings and stands also for clarity. Clarity is in general the attitude of Mike’s tracks. He has the massive aptitude to bring techno back to the essentials. Mike’s music has clarity in sound structures, bass lines, drums and arrangements. Everything is lead by puristic sound engineering and exactly this kind of unique and authentic Techno can be discovered on “Lustrations”. 12 hypnotic driven tracks designed to be timeless, produced to be played in techno temples in order to set the audience in hypnotism and to clear the mind.

Cassegrain – Tiamat [PRG030]

Prologue with a double pack delivering 6 tracks of deep trippy dark techno. German duo Cassegrain take the name for their latest release Tiamat from the Babylonian chaos monster. If anything, though, this six-track EP is the embodiment of their take on dub-techno after Hüseyin Evirgen and Alex Tsiridis have buffered out the edges of a heretofore scabrous discography — chaos has very little to do with it.

Dino Sabatini is not just a Prologue artist having the first 12” release in our catalogue, he is also one of the most authentic Prologue artists who is responsible for providing the well known Prologue sound aesthetic. Dino´s productions always deliver exactly our vision of music; deep, hypnotic, atmospheric and mind-driven. The album is called “Shaman’s Paths” and it is more than just an album for all of us. Dino´s Shaman’s Paths is his personal interpretation of the sounds of Africa, which provides since decades the basis of trance in order to loose your mind in sounds and drum arrangements and it is his personal interpretation of the Prologue sound aesthetic. The Album is planned for October 2012 and will be distributed over “WordandSound”. One part will be a CD mixed with all tracks, which simply is the Shaman’s Paths to follow. Further we will also have one 12” Vinyl which will contain the most club oriented hypnotic tracks from the Album and a complete digital album with all separate tracks. Voices From The Lake – Voices From The Lake [PRGCD001]

Voices from the Lake is an intensely personal project borne out of the long-standing friendship between two Italian DJ/producers, Donato Dozzy and Neel. The project extends and deepens their explorations of ambient techno, with an emphasis firmly placed on the ‘techno’ component. Listening to Voices from the Lake is an immersive experience, as the textured beats and carefully crafted rhythms have a deeply hypnotic effect. The open, fluid structure of the music gives it an organic, natural feel, transporting you to more peaceful surroundings. With the music of Voices from the Lake there is a completely natural progression and flow, nothing is forced or hurried. The sounds develop and unfold at their own pace, creating a powerful sense of tranquility. The genesis of the Voices from the Lake album can be found in the mountains of Japan, where they made their live debut at The Labyrinth festival in 2011.

Brilliant techno tracks with deepest dub feelings and enriched synth structures build a phantastic world of liquid sound relives.
