Boe presents one of the UK’s rising stars on the underground house music scene in Meschi. Meschi is also famed for his live analogue jam sets full of action and improvisation. The opening track “Walker” is a modern industrial piece, drenched in cavernous reverb and cushioned by rich bass frequencies. “Long Days” is a pumping Chicago techno cut with a smooth but punchy 808 kick and gritty fuzzy bass filling up that lower spectrum. Snappy hi hats and claps, melodic pads and strings fill up those emotive sequences taking the listener back to late 80s Chicago and loving every second. “The Ghost (vinyl only)” is a quality DJ cut in the Chicago vibe with a bouncing square bass and tight 707 percussion.

Neroli release an EP by Soul 223, the new project by UK don Steve Pickton. In this ep he fuses all his influences delivering a unique mix of hip hop, house, techno and funk in his signature real phat style.

Noble Square brings this amazing 12″ featuring two killer house tracks by Glenn Underground. The title cut is a unique composition that’s masterfully crafted around a guitar and brings tons of live energy to dancefloors. On the flip, “Ambient Jaz One” throws down another blueprint of technologic soulful house music.

Second 12″ compiled from the unheard ( up to now) tapes of J Velez. Grimy, dust ridden things, they must be. Superb psychedelic Deep House cuts w/ analogue feel.

First release of undiscovered tape jams from J Velez. Dope stuff and a big hit round here. Superb psychedelic Deep House cuts w/ analogue feel.

With delays on Tusk Wax Eight, the label turn to their Horn Wax sister imprint for the next Wax hit. On side A we get Scott Fraser’s “Space & Tapes”, another massive track from this producer who has already impressed with his releases on World Unknown and Weatherall’s Bird Scarer imprint. Rooted in a Detroit / Chicago sound, “Space & Tapes” is a raw analogue techno epic that retains interest throughout. This has been a staple of Mr Tusk Wax’s DJ sets for the last two months, and is a serious dancefloor weapon. Offering something deeper we have Other Worlds’ “Dystope” on the B-side, a slowly building electronic house / techno track that morphs with acid squelches and arpeggiated synth sparkles.

After 2010’s ‘Tuning Echoes’ Mock & Toof return with their second album entitled ‘Temporary Happiness’, featuring the young Swiss artist Ghostape who features on half of the 10 tracks, the remainder being instrumentals. Their sound isn’t easily pigeon-holed & this album continues in the same tradition. Stylistically there are the occasional nods to today’s & yesterday’s myriad of electronic genres, but it is concocted in such a way that the resulting tracks can’t be easily slotted in with this gang or that scene. ‘Temporary Happiness’, as the title suggests, is darker, deeper & perhaps a little less accessible than its predecessor, but it does have its moments of light where the energy & drama of dance tracks ‘Snowball’ & ‘Walking the Streets’ shine through, contrasting with the murky & more melancholic ‘Confusion Time’ & ‘Don’t Work, Don’t Care’. There is also plenty of space and a dub-funk mottled vibe running through a good number of the tracks, which could be said to be a bit of a trademark. At its core ‘Temporary Happiness’ is made by a combination of old machines & new computers, where Ghostape’s vocals and the emphasis on hooks & melodies constitutes the more human side.

Endless Flight presents the first the first two tracks from the upcoming debut album by true Italian disco artist Marcello Giordani. Classy & smooth disco house tunes from Marcello.

Late Night Audio Records presents “Rose” EP, Das Volt’s new work on the label, which includes 4 dangerously hot tracks, as well as a remix by Mark E. Das Volt’s musical influences and background vary from house to boogie, helping his sounds change playfully from track to track. Combined with precise sound engineering skills and his great taste of rhythm. DJ/producer Mark E also adds his touch of class on this EP, with a dreamy and essential remix, aiming to satisfy all your senses.

Mock & Toof are back with a new album “Temporary Happiness”. The first material to emerge from the new album is called ‘My Head’& it features vocals from young Swiss artist Ghostape. In a nutshell it’s one little catchy chugger with a heavy analog sound. The beats of the Boss DR-55 & the inimitable bass of the TB-303 lay the foundation. Clavs, bell lines and synth sweeps combine with Ghostape’s repetitive dubbed out vocals for a unique sounding electro-dub-funk inspired cut. Juju & Jordash take snippets of the vocal & weave them into an amazing raw, deep, techno remix that only they seem to be able to do at the moment. Lauer takes on the album track ‘Confusion Time’ and transforms it into a killer deep house number.

Lauer’s “Macsat Ring Down” follows an elliptic pattern fit for infinite play on any space floor. On “Mascat”, analog space junk flies in and out of an orbital framework built upon nearly nine minutes of bubbling bass and peripheral percussion. Space boogie at its finest. An anti-gravity exercise in repetition, Lee Douglas remixes “Macsat” for the flipside. Reaching a zen state through mantra-like looping, Douglas reworks Lauer’s sounds from a delicate and pensive place to a muscular and propulsive groove. Most if not all of the synthesized glitter from the original is eventually forgone in favor of blasted percussion and an unrelenting bassline.

Given his ultra-prolific work rate, there was only ever going to be one way for Jus’ Ed to celebrate his fiftieth birthday – by recording and releasing his seventh full-length proper (his second this year). For those who’ve followed his career to date, 50ty and Looking Good will hold few surprises, but that’s not to say that it’s not worth a listen. His particular brand of deep house is never less than beguiling, while there are enough forays into other areas to keep it interesting. Check, for example, the sax-laden “Man With The Red Face” style wig-out “Becky’s Jam”, or the raw, analogue acid of “OHMY”; clearly, there’s life in the old dog yet.

Yoruba presents a selection of diverse and interesting remixes for Torquato and Boghosian’s acclaimed debut. First up, Afefe Iku delivers a much deeper, weightier version of Paradice laden with heavy synth stabs and woody percussive elements. Aybee takes When U Touch Me nto much deeper realms, stripping back the original groove . It’s remarkably simple but flawlessly executed, the chord motif working effortlessly alongside the crisp hats. Atone tackles Zulu Girl and in the process unravels a much more mechanical track, a massive mid-tempo thud dominating over delayed cymbal crashes and ghostly vocals.

VID is a new project by Romanian young talent Sorin Rastoaca, know also as EGAL 3. Here he teams up with his friend Andrew Grant for some refreshing beats. A collaboration between Andrew and Sorin really grabs you without letting go with it’s intense subby rumbling groove and tight dubby transitions. “Dinamic” and “Inlove” are testaments of Sorin’s musical integrity yet at early age, and shows obvious inspiration from classic American techno, and modern dub techno, yet still delivering something that is housy and totally current.
