Prins Thomas, Mark E, Bulgari and Ultra City all feature on Epic Disco Vol 2, the long overdue return to the twelve inch game from the Rollerboys imprint. Label supremos Ultra City aka Elias & Yourhighness open proceedings in excellent fashion with the resplendent “Delta” a richly rewarding exercise in effervescent Chicago house based around instantly uplifting piano tones and loose cascading Roland 707 patterns – instant dancefloor uplift guaranteed on this one. Merc boss Mark E follows with the deeper sounds of “Walk With Me” utilising a familiar vocal refrain amidst a musical arrangement that pairs subtle elements such as heart warming chords with the more intense synths. Flip over and Prins Thomas introduces a lesson in the art of infinite build via the primal, stripped down 303 jam “Stockholm Express” which has us rather excited for his forthcoming new album. Rollerboys regular Bulgari eases down the tempo to finish with a echo laden electro boogie future classic in the shape of “I Was On”.

As one of the younger breed of Detroit talents, Jason Fine is still just starting to get a foothold, despite having a good few years of releases behind him. His Kontra Musik relationship has proven to be the most fruitful, and this remix package capitalizes on that with two top shelf commissions. A Made Up Sound brings his unmistakable broken house swing to bear, with warming subs and thick swathes of pad and melody twisted to Dave Huismann’s crafty designs. Heinrich Muller brings the Drexciyan vibes in abundance with his punchy electro stance that remains peerless after all these years.

“Spring Toy” is an elegant A-side crafted with classic house influences in mind. Meandering casually before beginning its ascent into deepspace territory, Detroit styled synth lines and intricate melodies hang above a funky undertone which hooks from the off. Continuing its cosmic trajectory, the EP’s B-sides set their coordinates into dub techno regions. “Lindberg”s quirky astral synths and futuristic soundscape trigger a dream-like state…think sci-fi beams and interplanetary navigation and you’re half way there. “Shudder” is a more up-tempo sonic excursion, propelled by its galloping techno rhythms. The ebb and flow of trippy pads and crystalline waves play to the senses.

Atmospheric House/Techni from Transilvanian Galaxi. “You Have Always Been The Caretaker” on the A-side is over 9 minutes of subterrainian atmospheres and mournful strings, one for the instrospective moments in the early hours. On the flip “Sequence 2” and “God DR-55” head even futher away from the dancefloor (though in the right heads they’d sound fantasic, especially on a big system) and towards the contemplative and esoteric.

Roaming are Christopher Rau and Moomin as a Team. “Believe In Reflecting” is a result of a spontaneous jam-session in Berlin, without the intention to start a new project. Smallville co-owners Smallpeople aka Dionne & Julius Steinhoff step in with a trippy remix on B1.

Gilesku Records announces new upcoming limited vinyl release with young talented and promising Romanian artist Vlad Caia.

Baalsaal Records presents a new release by Romanian Aeromaschine aka Alin Crihan. The package includes three originals and a remix by Martin Landsky.

First appearance of this small-scale vinyl imprint from the east of Holland with a split-release by the well-respected Aroy Dee and Perseus Traxx. Both of them are known for their deep analogue house music productions with raw and sharp edges, but most recognizable in their work is the presence of true emotions. This will also be the distinctive element for the labels future output: emotive electronic music with the soul deep within. Honest and unpolished music that is inspired by everyday life, whether it comes from pain or joy. Perseus Traxx kicks off with an immersive, slow building and uplifting track, followed by a moody but hypnotic and slightly acid inspired piece. Aroy Dee takes care of the flip-side, with a dreamy and atmospheric track, and one raw, surprising and energetic cut.

Tom Demac makes the step up to the Glass Table imprint with a far ranging three track EP. ‘Obstructing The Light’ is a lazy and moody soup of swirling deep house. Dreamy voices drift like clouds above a chugging kick clap combo as light finger melodies keep things from growing all too dour. ‘Four Leaves Right’ is a quicker joint, but the moods are still studiously sombre and melancholic. There’s an irresistibly swinging arc to each kick that really sweeps you up, along with a deep, buried, bobbling Bristol bass-like b-line to keep things firmly rooted on the dancefloor despite the dream-pop vocals and layers of intricate percussion.

From the full length double CD Mysterious Intrigue by Kuba Sojka on Mathematics Recordings, comes 4 tracks previously unreleased on wax. The original version of “I Can’t Stop” and “So Far Away” take on the A-side while “El Trompetista” and “Galactic Ritual” fill the flip. All cuts show the producer’s top notch skill and balance between house and techno.

In his continuing quest to explore ever broader and more ambitious musical territories than those records from his existing, already expansive, yet still relatively young back catalogue have done, Konotop’s spiritual warrior Vakula brings us the latest installment of Leleka. This time, it is with the aid of the pan global operation known as Ashes To Machines aka Lionel Corsini (DJ Oil) & Jeff Sharel. Remixes propel the organic sounding originals further towards the future, with Vakula, Ji Dru & Sandra Nkake and Juju & Jordash all adding their own unique interpretations, while equally showing the depth of understanding they all have for more esoteric musical forms.

Xquisite, a new and emerging vinyl only label from Lisbon, prooved their taste in having signed Ivel Tax from Romania for their first release. Two very relaxed, natural, and carefully uplifiting tracks here, wide open tracks, giving a distinct airyness and natural vibes, not to forget the solid drum programming.

The second installment on Get Slow, featuring the young and talented Romanian producer Toygun, who joined forces with Get Slow headman Adi Dumitra to give us a fresh and deep view of contemporary house music. “Static Soul” is a bass driving deep house floorfiller with reminiscence of the golden garage days and “We made a record” is an even deeper journey with inspired synth stabs and a killer groove. This package is topped with the invaluable contribution of Finnish star producer Phonogenic who adds his own flavor to “We made a record” creating a deep landscaping version in his Get Slow debut.
