Eddie Leader has had his most productive year since releasing his first record under the Slum Science alias in 2004. On this record ‘Lost in…’ kicks things off and takes you on a deep hypnotic journey along the house spectrum. ‘The Unknown’ has a raw and underground vibe with a heavy bass line and takes inspiration from both Chicago & Detroit. The Tribal Manifestation Mix of ‘The Unknown’ picks up the tempo on the B side for a peak time dancefloor rework. Eddie closes out the EP with ‘You’, which is a smooth vocal infused early hours future classic.

Felipe Gordon offers up a new three-track EP on Toucan Sounds. ‘The Warehouse Beast’ is a mid tempo house cut with deep drums and plenty of focus on the pixelated chords that churn up top over tighter stabs that keep things moving. ‘It’s Over (You Can Drive My Car)’ is another unhurried cut with smeared synth warmth and hiccuping hits. The pick of the bunch however is the acid laced Glenn Underground remix of ‘The Warehouse Beast’.

Thom introduces the VA with lush melancholic synths driven by a subtle proggy bassline. Innershades provides a deep bleepy tune that obviously bangs as one expects of him. The B side starts with Guilio Gastadello and B.ai concludes the EP with a dreamy, yet groovy tune that perfectly suits the other tracks. We are very happy to have her on board.

Simoncino – The Warrior Dances Remixes II [LAX-SE6]
Originally released early last decade, Simoncino’s four-part The Warrior Dance series boasted a mix of inspired original productions and superb remixes. This 12″ contains four of the best remixes, all of which first appeared between 2010 and 2012. Ron Trent’s EP-opening revision of ‘The Warrior Dance’ is little less than analogue deep house perfection – all sparse drum machine beats, bittersweet chords, sci-fi synth sounds and the producer’s usual emotive piano motifs – while Gene Hunt’s take on ‘Do It Again’ is hypnotic, bass-heavy and reminiscent of Larry Heard’s most bittersweet early works. Merwyn of Virgo Four drops two takes on ‘Mystery Girl’: a raw, analogue-rich deep house main mix, and a sparse, jacking and groove-based Dub.

Driving from his base in Manchester to London, to collect a stranded Chez Damier, due to a cancelled flight, and deliver him to his gig in Manchester that same night. Post gig, deep in merriment, and having given way to the lure of the machines, both Eddie, Chez & Tomson spent time jamming in the studio and recording vocals. Late last year Leader dusted off these ideas and and set to work on crafting a new single…. Pressure.

Second time around for Chez Damier’s superb remixes of Simoncino classic ‘Inga’s Creme’, which first surfaced way back in 2011 as part of The Warrior Dance Part 2 mini-album. On the A-side you’ll find Damier’s ‘Club Mix’ – a superb chunk of Prescription style peak-time deepness in which hazy, echoing synth sounds, ultra-deep pads and echoing spoken word snippets cluster around a locked-in, late-night groove. Side B opens with Damier’s ‘Morning After Mix Part 1’, an even deeper and more dubbed-out interpretation tailor-made for misty-eyed sunrise sessions. It’s followed by the ‘Morning After Mix Part 2’, a previously unreleased ambient house style interpretation built around gorgeous chords, bubbly melodies and slowly building percussion.
