Deeptrax Records and Contrafact continue their mission to deliver high-quality, groundbreaking electronic music with the release of seminal Dutch electronic producer Orlando Voorn’s ‘Power Of Beauty EP’. This new deep house masterpiece features four original tracks and a remix from the mighty DJ QU.
Reggie Dokes – The Vault Vol. 1 LP [CONTRA009]
“The Vault Vol. 1” is an auditory voyage through the heart of Detroit’s finest dusty crates, a compilation of beats and melodies meticulously crafted by esteemed producer Reggie Dokes. Dokes unveils a treasure trove of his finest deep house creations, never before released on vinyl. Delve into the hypnotic rhythms, lush harmonies, and pulsating basslines that define Dokes’ signature sound, as he seamlessly blends elements of house and soul to create an immersive sonic experience.
Orlando Voorn – The Master 2 LP [CONTRA007]
Contrafact welcomes back Dutch icon and studio wizard, Orlando Voorn, who brings a fresh new sound with his second contribution to the label – a double vinyl album entitled ‘The Master 2’. On this long player we see Orlando delivering an album that flips the switch, moving through different shades of jazzy house, soulful funk, but still very much in Detroit zone. It’s an infectious mix of debonair soul and hi-tech jazzism injected with Voorn’s versatile palette of deep dynamics, next-level machine talk and otherworldly funk. Staying true to the velveteen house vibrations that’ve been the driving force to his seminal records through nearly three decades of mythology, Voorn drops a textbook sample of his lush and unhindered vision for innovative and soul inspiring music. This album rolls up its sleeves and pulls out a potent artillery of foot shuffling jazzy house beats, intricate drum work, and some bleached-out synths that will wash away all those the winter blues.
Darren Nye – Thoughts And Emotions LP [DPTX-037]
UK producer, Darren Nye, is set to captivate listeners with his exciting new album, “Thoughts And Emotions,” released on Deeptrax. The long-player delves deep into the realms of techno, harking back to the golden era of the 90s and channeling influences not just from Detroit, but also the electronic waves that emanated from the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands. ‘Thoughts And Emotions’ is a labor of love, where Nye masterfully explores and curates a rich collection of sounds, all bearing his distinct signature. Deeptrax presents Deepseries 1.3, the latest installment in their Deep compilation series featuring friends and family of the label. This atmospheric EP showcases the distinct sounds of Deeptrax, bringing together a curated selection of tracks that define the label’s sonic universe. Tracks from Caim, Mathijs Smit, Joey Anderson, Rich P & Lee and Pim Holthof.
Mike Dehnert – TESTET EP [TECH-UM006]
Fachwerk boss Mike Denhert rolls up on TECH-UM 006 with for another heavy selection of intuitive techno jams on his ‘TESTET’ EP. With the focus squarely on the dance floor the Berlin-born wizard’s latest creations makes for another unique voyage into cutting edge techno.
DJ Surgeles – Triglav [TECH-UM313003]
The exploration craft Isis001, a spaceship sent by humanity, has crashed into the unknown world of Triglav, with one of the most important discoveries in galactic history. Below, a handful of humans fight an armed group of outsiders and the entire hostile planet to protect the secret – the fate of the Triglavs, the legendary first species to show wisdom in the stars. Over time, the group of astronauts begins to understand what is going on on the planet,and begins to understand Triglav’s secret, but will they be able to return to our planet and share the secret about Triglav? Triglav’s heads were believed to represent Sky, Earth and the Underworld. It was believed that Triglav has three heads because he ruled these three kingdoms and had a golden binding over his eyes and lips so he could not see people’s sins nor speak about them.
Reggie Dokes – We Was Bad EP [CONTRA-006]
Without question, Reggie Dokes is a soldier of Deep House. Touches of jazz and otherworldliness find there way on his latest EP with Contrafact Records. Three tracks ranging from the sultry to the beyond, putting the listener into a blissful state. A must have for the fans of Deep House.
Joey Anderson – Exotic Sequence [DPTX035]
From New Jersey via The Netherlands: longstanding US craftsman Joey Anderson makes his debut on Deeptrax with his inspiring new album ‘Exotic Sequence’. His fourth LP to date, ‘Exotic Sequence’ is a fully instrumental deep dive into both Joey’s machines and mindset.
DJ Surgeles – Cosmic Distance Markers [TECH-UM313-002]
“Cosmic Distance Markers” was originally released on Axis Records. DJ Surgeles has a longstanding professional relationship with Detroit legend Jeff Mills. Connected through music, DJ Surgeles learned the insides and tricks of Jeff. Many conversations and meetings over the years led to this new concept, The Escape Velocity. DJ Surgeles has also collaborated exclusively with Jeff Mills on the concepts Something in The Sky and STRMRKD, and produced a special Axis Records 10 year anniversary release, The Bells: DJ Mix back in 2007.
DJ Surgeles – Moonlight Serenade [TECH-UM313-001]
“Moonlight Serenade” was originally released on Axis Records. ear 3036, the Third Empire of Human spans hundreds of star systems, only accessible by a faster-than-light spaceship. No other intelligent beings have ever been encountered, not until a light sail probe enters a human system carrying a dead alien. The probe is traced to the Ursea, an isolated star system in a thick dust cloud, and an expedition is dispatched. After a search that lasted thousands of years, humans stand on the verge of first contact with an alien race. The mission’s objective: learn everything there is to know about the extraterrestrial intelligence.
The AM – Sexworker EP [DPTX031]
Empathy is the codeword when it comes to The AM’s second solo EP: The ‘Sexworker’ EP. Sat in a not-so distant neon tomorrow, downtown Detroit, this is the vivid concept and narrative conjured by Detroit native, violinist-turned-techno artist Ann-Marie Teasley. ‘Sexworker’ is another revelation from the agenda-setting artist who’s crafted a completely immersive narrative that ranges from the playful electro beats of ‘Intercosmic Lap Dance’ to the runaway juggernaut ‘Black Galaxy’ (a collaboration with Scan 7’s Track Masta Lou). Each track adding layers of tension and intrigue, cutting through the late night sleaze and exploitation with raw machine soul.
Gene Hunt – Feel My Soul [CONTRA003]
Mr Gene Hunt is already in the game since the early 80s and is considered a true Chicago legend. Now he returns with a heavy hitting 3 tracker on the fresh sublabel of Deeptrax Records; Contrafact. Gene serves you the perfect mixture of nostalgic Paradise Garage vocal house moods with deep growing and shuffling classic grooves for peak time happiness.
Sonar Base – We Attack At Dawn [DPTX-016]
‘We Attack Before Dawn’ is the 3rd instalment in the ‘Sonar Base Transmissions’ series on Deeptrax created by the long standing Dutch Electro pioneer Frank De Groodt under his Sonar Base alias. This chapter is yet another collection of savage, clever and spooky electro tracks.
Colophon – Heritage [DPTX-011]
The Harlem based producer Bas van Vuurde a.k.a. Colophon is back with a release on Deeptrax. The Heritage EP is a hommage to analog machine soul techno, as he calls it himself. Deeptrax is presenting future sounds in fresh modern cuts with a stunning electro-ish remix by VC-118A.
Sonar Base – Sonar Bases 4-10 [DPTX-009]
Twenty years after the Sonar Base 4 – 10 release on the legendary Dutch record label U-Trax, it is now time for an official high quality remastered vinyl re-issue on Deeptrax Records. The rare original was very hard to find and is considered as one of the highlights of Dutch electro and techno. The Dutchman Frank de Groodt a.k.a Sonar Base is hitting hard with a perfect blend of 70 minutes of aquasonic electro, intergalactic boogie and deep techno. This bass oriented, mind bending album is considered one of The Netherlands best kept secrets and has been a fave amongst connaisseurs, selectors and DJs around the globe for many years. A real post apocalyptic gem from Utrecht that is as fresh and sharp as it was originally released 20 years ago. The tracks are full bodied, muscular pieces of electro and techno with hidden melodies and savage beats upon clever bass lines. This is just the first one of a series by Sonar Base released on Deeptrax Records.
Shedbug – End Point Constriction [DPTX007]
Four trax for the heads and for the floor. Screaming acid with deep rhythms full of mesmerizing chords like these old Detroit warehouse vibes meeting ultra dope bouncin beats going into dreamy breaks. All captured in sonic waves from this Melbourne Salt Mine bloke on a heavy mythical mental mission.
Moda – Kemo Therapy [DPTX006]
Moda is kicking off the new EP on the Deeptrax label (DPTX-006). Big large suburban club tracks in flashing DIY style from this already acclaimed DJ/ Producer from Sweden. Banging the room with filthy lo-fi dance, groomy grimey basslines and stabbing 90’s rave sounds combined with clever aquatic accents for that perfect party mood. Dirty subliminal sounds riding the hard rolling rhythms….. This one goes hard and deep.
