College – Old Tapes LP [AMI001]

College – Old Tapes celebrates ten years of composition from 2006 and 2016. Most of these tracks are unreleased demo versions. To illustrate the music video of the track “Auto Pilot”, College team up with the director Dan Bell. This collaboration, born out of the same generational anchoring, reflects the strange dream of a paradise of the consumption which collapses silently.

Casionova – Subspace Transmission 2 [MW011]

Continuing where ‘Subspace Transmission 1’ left off Casionova brings another triple-tracker 12″ of synth jams and dancefloor grooves ranging from the merciless bass-driven Mecha-disco assault of ‘Droids Night Out’ to the epic, booming and deep bass box-jam ‘Magic Touch’ and with the galloping, mystical and hypnotic ‘Necromancer’s Spell’ sandwiched in between – for those who like their electro-disco raw and relentless.

Ali Renault – Altro Mondo [BAP066]

Ali Renault lands on Bordello A Parigi with a four tracker of leftfield electro pop. ‘Altro Mondo’ screams out of the traps, bulbous bass lines elbow sweetened chords and snapping beats. ‘Fume’ grows from the same soil. Analogue warmth is brushed, even bruised, by the crack and whip of rhythms; a touch of EBM bitterness blended with Italo hope. Nowhere is this more evident than in…’Nowhere’, a buckled dancefloor romp with the king of Milano, Fred Ventura, offering vocals. Uabos maintains the tension for the finale, uplifting house currents coursing through his remix of ‘Lenticular’.

Daddy Long Legs – Intergalactic Lover [CPU00100111]

Intergalactic Lover is the first release on CPU’s new 7″ vinyl series and is the debut single from Daddy Long Legs aka Tom Parker, one half of City Guys and all round ‘FM’ synthesis maestro extraordinaire. Side A’s ‘Intergalactic Lover’ is new wave Kraftwerkian electro funk, with added vocal not too dissimilar to the great Edwyn Collins circa Orange Juice. Side B’s ‘The Club’ could be mistaken for a 1980’s breakdance anthem, poised with casio orchestral stabs, scribble scratches and electro bass designed for the dancefloor, more specifically poppin’ and lockin’.

The Violet Hour – Utraviolet [CDA015]

The Violet Hour is the exclusive project of Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara and Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau, for Berlin imprint Cocktail d’Amore Music. One Morning In The Future takes over the A side. A total dancefloor pleaser. Treating us with Chicago house-inspired drums and that kind of cosmic pads that make any seasoned raver jump and kiss a nearby stranger. The intensity never stops growing – with new melodic strings appearing unexpectedly, projecting the track to the rings of Saturn. An involving italo-classic bassline characterizes Ultraviolet, together with an explosive layering of synthy melodies. The B2 Prisoner Of Love is a seductive dialogue between synthesizers and classic piano, resulting in a comforting, romantic soundtrack for any space travels. These two tracks illuminate feelings of looking at a violet sky, but with different attitudes: the first pushes into the unknown looking for a happy ending, while the second is nostalgic and tender.

The Beginning Of The End – Funky Nassau LP [ALSTON77001]

Seminal early 70’s Bahamian Funk of the highest order. The debut LP from the Munnings brothers legendary outfit. “Funky Nassau” is one of the most sought after Soul/Funk records ever with it’s highly original blend of US black music styles and Bahamian roots. A very famous band in their native Nassau, the group only had 2 full length albums under their belts along with a slew of 45 singles but have managed to stamp their name on the ears and minds of record lovers since they first burst onto the scene. The obvious track to reference here is the title track “Funky Nassau” a breakbeat fuelled monster dance cut that has supplied hungry samplers with sounds for decades (everyone from The Prodigy & The Roots among those who have used the cavernous drum break!), the rest of this excellent LP also includes the amazing Funk of “Come Down” and a whole host of other brilliant sun-drenched tracks. Absolutely essential. Here’s your chance to own a true classic! You’d be hard pressed to find another well rounded debut LP, this one is pure joy from start to finish.
