Ekman returns to the Berceuse Heroique imprint with another formidable chunk of acid rave sorcery. “GMMDI” brilliantly blends relentless techno rhythms, recorded-in-a-cement-mixer synths and dancing rave melodies into the sort of throbbing techno banger that could have been recorded at any point over the last 30 years. Ekman’s old pals Breaker 1 2 (aka Greg Beato) provide the B-side remix, simmering things down whilst retaining the original’s foreboding chords and thumping beats.

Collaboration project between Jauzas the Shining & Victoria Lukas featuring Ekman and Orgue Electronique. Lukas, drawing upon personal sensations, melds diary-like lyrics into dreamlike ambiance and textures, beautifully fusing with the infectious electro-pop grooves of Jauzas the Shining. Songs encapsulating lost love and longings for sensation, emotional stimulation and experiencing feelings through those of another are conveyed via vocal pieces, ‘Cold Sweat’ and ‘Coral Eyes’. Ekman contributes a driving, acidic groove version of ‘Cold Sweat’ more apt for the dancefloor, while Orgue Electronique pushes the electronic pop vibes into house territory.

Ekman makes his TTT label debut with some crushing electronics. The Entropy EP finds Roel Dijcks expanding his palette further. There’s a sense of abstraction throughout all four tracks here, with notions of rhythm only loosely adhered too, with the overwhelming sonic pressure of “?0” and “Dissipation” offset by the lighter title track. Closer “?S” veers into the crawlspace between the insectile sound design of Mike Parker and the lysergic hardware manipulations of Hieroglyphic Being.

Very dark and menacing and heavily-pounding industrial techno/electro planet rock by Ekman on Panzerkreuz.

The mysterious Ekman, aka Roel Dijcks, has been gaining some deserved attention with his terse brand of Electro. With releases on the likes of Panzerkreuz, Solar One Music and Berceuse Heroique, Dijcks has rattled souls with his bare mechanics and cold-hearted sounds. Arctic blasts descend from the outset with his latest for Shipwrec. Frosted coils ensnaring clipped beats, roaming bass lines kept in check by tight drum patterns. Emotion is masked, feelings enveloped and embedded beneath those arrangements of aluminium and steel. Distress is never far from Ekman’s work. The flipside jangles with fear and retribution, respites elevating that initial unease into something outright sinister. Anxiety is effect. A brooding boil of ghosting reverb and sharpened percussion from the hooked hands of Ekman.

This is the sound of Belgian 80’s nightclubs re-energized for the current scene. From dancefloor to darkroom, it is all there… Dark, dirty, raw and sweaty. For bodies to move on and minds to loose, in the strobelights and beyond…

Hailing from Holland Ekman has been haunting the dancefloors for some time now with his deformed acid influenced dark and nasty slow electro and techno tunes… his music is fitting in perfect in between drugged out techno and new beat / early techno stuff… and even some classic electro touches can be found… simply excellent for not your average dance party… but who likes average anyway…

Solar One Music is back with dark and eerie Electro Sound from the depths of The Netherlands. This time Ekman presents his new Album feat. 9 tracks full of darkness, frequencies and missing satellites. Nicely presented in a timber box.

Follow-up to the recent Ekman release on Bunker/Panzerkreuz and we have further idiosyncratic electronic experiments on this deep and dastardly EP.

More dark and menacing techno/electro stuff from the Netherlands, eerie hard-pounding industrial machine music.
