Asok is the man behind burgeoning house and techno label Scenery Records, and has released on Deep Space Orchestras Use of Weapons and, though he has firm roots in d&b, has proven himself adept at crafting raw analogue jams that fuse house and techno together the jacking way.

A love of new wave, new beat, UK Bleep and Detroit techno all feature in B-Ultras and the aptly titled, Neu Beat. Both cuts are heavily soaked in the pitch black, smoke machine funk and strob-laden fug of Andy’s (and co-hort Joe Hart) infamous World Unknown dancefloor. Running at around 10 minutes the tracks are essentially an examination of acid house’s ideals. Clattering hats, throbbing basslines, stabbing keys and doses of 303. Keeping it pretty simple but all about a pure groove on and on. Backing these up is a remix of B-Ultras from Jamie Paton that accentuates the groove and drags the acid deeper down to some B-boy Dub throwdown – with more to follow from all protagonists in 2014.

Synapsis Records with four Murph Tone Jack Session reinterpretations by Chicago producers Chicago Skyway, G. Marcell, Ike Release, and Steven Tang. Their contributions expand the Jack Session with deep and rhythmic tunes that will rock from warehouse to boats.

This time around it’s a bold 303 mission, with Ben Sims on the machines, Tyree Cooper on the vocals and the illusive Geeeman on the remix duties.

No info on Hermez, but these tracks speak for themselves. Detroit bleeps getting tweaked with strings, basslines complemented by well placed high hats, percussion and claps. Timeless tracks on a beautiful EP.

New EP by Hakim Murphy. ”Smog” is the initial signal to land – beginning with cascading bleeps and sonars before a buzzing sawtooth assumes first contact. Proceeding to encapsulate all Earthlings with its electromagnetic hum – it’s no wonder people are rushing to the top of apartment blocks to try and bootleg this shit on their phones. ”Vortex” is next, taking us right through the wormhole into the domain of machine-elves and humongous multi-headed entities, all eager to show us the porthole to paradise. A blissful bubble of ricocheting snares, delectable synth rubs and celestial goodness awaits. ”Spanking Tables” concludes the set and sees Hakim display his amazing control of percussion and unusual sounds; comfortably easing us in with our new galactic friends. Synthetic toms, drifting pads and sharp hats all converging on our bodies.

Here is the full length LP from DJ Spider. It is a mix of deep house, deep down tempo beats and some darker house tracks. This record will take you on a journey from beginning to end, just like a full length should. Every piece has it’s place in the selection & much thought has been put behind them with meaning & intent to invoke higher listening. Spider has worked with some great musicians over the years & added some of their pieces to the mix as well. Sly Scott threw down some amazing Saxophone parts on The opening track “Prison Planet” & he also did some playing on the fifth track “Crack Factory”. The one & only Dub Poet, Infinity gave a dope voice piece to Spider for the eighth track “S O S” & Boyd Jarvis lends a gorgeous keyboard solo on the final cut, “Flee To Agartha”

New release on Tarvisium Electronique label. Legowelt delivers the original, Steve Lorenz and Moonhacker the remixes.

3 tracks of serious basement bizz from Chicago’s Specter – following on his Pipe Bomb Sound release.

The White Man & The Arab BLM & Soho decide to revisit the partnership that gave us Future Moves EP. The resulting second EP Misanthropy while roughly following the same mood of their first release, shows the two producers becoming more attuned to each others strengths and sounding more and more like one well-oiled unit. Clocking in at around 20 minute mark, were treated to three cuts of pure deep bliss, each with its own distinct flavour.
