Angis Music returns faithful and strong with a new EP from the lush imagination of Chicago veteran Specter. Entitled Ironside, and inspired by a late 60s crime drama- you will Embrace a dense 3 track journey catered to premium vibe lovers of deep house and deep techno grooves spanning from jazzy and romantic to funky and dark moods.
“Ten years have gone by since I began this project called Sequencias. When I started it, all I had in mind was that I wanted to put out the best music that was available to me and that I’ll follow wherever it’ll take me. I’m very grateful to all the people that have been part of this journey and have trusted me with their art, without them there was no way this could have happened. Also, to everyone behind the scenes that have made it all possible, thank you. With this selection of tracks, I intend to give the catalog a breath of fresh air. All of them were previously released on vinyl-only between 2011-2021 so now you can enjoy them digitally as well. All the tracks in the compilation got remastered and the ones that were not included will remain only on vinyl.” JM De Frias.
Chicago based Tetrode mastermind Specter takes up the torch with a (too) long awaited solo EP on Into The Deep records. As a true soldier of the underground, Andres has been designing his sound for two decades, bridging the gap between Chicago and Detroit. A spectacular EP exploring jazz, raw, deep and spacey territories from one master of the genre: that’s what Dreamscape is all about.
Welcome to the Barbershop. This LP arrives with tunes from some of your favorite artists representing Chicago’s underground dance music sphere on the city’s bred label, Perpetual Rhythms. A wide variety of fresh cuts and genres are showcased, ranging from Deep House and Techno to Experimental and Ambient, providing an eclectic listening experience. The central theme of the LP is “things that relate to a barbershop”, topics such as hairstyles, hair products and humor. We invite you to stay a while and experience this sonic journey with an open mind.
Finale Underground is back with Vol. 3 and this time the focus in on Chicago. Four tunes from Chicago luminaries that have made their marks in the scene, though all sounding different, still staying true to the Chicago ethos.
Tilburg based producer Drvg Cvltvre did another outstanding job. Four extremely mean tracks ment for bombing dark basements, nasty party’s and late get togethers. New label based in Berlin ran by Rotterdam producer Charlton / Tapirus together with Nick Dunton.
The forever under-rated Marco Bernardi steps out on Berceuse Heroique with this fifteen-minute epic, evoking the glory days of Carl Craig. On the flip, Specter from Sound Signature draws the dancefloor in deep.
Perpetual Rhythms is a new Chicago label run by Nick Marshall, AKA Taelue and Victor Aguinaga aka Chicagodeep. This debut EP from the imprint features tracks by Taelue, Chicagodeep and Specter, and also hits us with a Linkwood edit.
Proper box-bangers and sci-fi house from Steven Tang aka Obsolete Music Technology, backed with a cracking Specter remix. Steven recreates a track he imagines he heard at the Since The Accident party, in the 80s. 303 bass over 707 drums. Also includes a bonus beat & Specter remix of STA, plus added track “Descending”.
Leo Gunn features his comeback to Deep Explorer with a new release. “Rise & Fall” Ep is a compilation of his new deep and emotional songs. Four original tracks written by Leo Gunn under the production of Dubbyman & Above Smoke plus a special extended remix by Specter.
Sven Weisemann, Specter, Duijn & Douglas, and Water Field, hail from Berlin, Chicago, Amsterdam and Sapporo, respectively and they deliver some delicate techno.
