Steve Bicknell returns to KR3, once again unleashing his mastery of power electronics. Hetakes us deep into the realms of his sonic mysticism, marking a significant milestone in the fifth anniversary of the label. Several Streams of Thought LP is an unrelenting and immersive odyssey, presented through nine tracks, seven of which will be available on a double 12-inch vinyl, with two exclusive cuts in a limited 7-inch format.
“Forgiveness of Blood Remixes” shows a modern vision of techno voiced by the sound of the four artists involved: SHED, Anthony Linell, Alessandro Adriani and Tensal. Static and hypnotic waves of strain recur, even though the 4 tracks represent 4 different major expressions of what techno explicitly and implicitly stands for. Forgiveness of Blood Remixes – is a distillation of the modernist and nostalgic sound capable of impacting both on the dance-floor and mentally. Four strongly evocative tracks that narrate not only the artists’ but also the label’s path.
KR3 first EP is an intricate labyrinth of sounds, curated by Japanese techno pioneer Takaaki Itoh with an additional remix by Claudio PRC. “Mutual Recognition” is a work of insistent raw elements that interweave with hypnotic segments, creating a sense of bewilderment. The A side keeps listeners on the edge with its insistent wobbling and repetitive sounds. Similarly, the B side builds a sense of high intensity; Stinging synths and mental hi-hats interact consistently, resulting in a mesmerizing conversation.
The first release on the new Hypnotic techno label KR3 is a mini-compilation of four club bangers that symbolises the inception and evolution of a vortex – concept that is also embodied in the label’s logo. KR3 001 is a highly powerful release that seduces the listener into a labyrinth of twisted thoughts; a notion that has been widely embraced and evoked by all the artists who have contributed with their participation to the genesis of the label.
