Kuba Sojka – Sunny Day [SLN003]

Kuba Sojka is a rising techno and house producer from Poland who’s picked up critical acclaim in recent years for his releases on Mathematics, Matrix Records, Souliner and more recently Dogmatik. Kuba returns to fledging deep tech UK based label Souliner with three original cuts and one remix by label boss Souliner. The lead cut “What You Know” is an exemplary lesson in cross referencing techno with house. The track builds with layers of sounds bonding with each other to breeze into a track that will pick up much critical acclaim for those in the know. “Sunny Day” is a bright and breezy fusion of horn with technology, a jazzed up be-bop bomb. “Long Trip” takes us through a journey with incessant chords jamming along with a rolling bassline. “What You Know (Souliner remix)” finishes the release off with a steady interpretation of the lead cut.

DETROITROCKETSCIENCE/KUBA SOJKA - 22 300 Miles Above Neo Detroit

Alan Oldham aka Detroitrocketscience shares a retro-sounding Neo-Detroit split with Kuba Sojka. Oldham’s two tracks trek across trippy, metallic harmonics on ‘Curved Space’ and proper, swinging hi-tek funk calculations on ‘Black Math’. Sojka meanwhile offers the acid-licked and uptempo 313 romance of ‘Low Gravity’ and ‘Black Hole’s plush Techno soul.

Kuba Sojka – Berlin News [SLN002]

SOJKA, Kuba - Berlin News (Front Cover)

Polish producer Kuba Sojka with a smoky and nostalgic house on London label Souliner. Title track “Berlin News” utilises multiple layers of expansive pads over an ascending analogue bassline; considering how many elements are jostling for position the effect is impressively reined in. On the B-Side, “Electronic Fever”, the same kind of arrangements are used, but building up to a complex improvised piano melody. The last track “Auster Session” is a collaboration with Electribalt.

Kuba Sojka – Mysterious Intrigue [MATH055]

Cover art - Kuba Sojka: Mysterious Intrigue

Splendidly full spectrum dedication to Detroit and Chicago from Poland’s Kuba Sojka. ‘Mysterious Intrigue’ is his second release on Mathematics, expanding on the ‘Bright Shadow Of A Star’ showcase with two plates spanning beatdown, piano House, acid and more romantical styles. The first late is largely more loved-up and smoky, but the second covers the ruder stuff, from the climactic peaks of ‘Do Not Be Afraid’ to the hard-bodied wriggle of ‘I Can’t Stop (Acid Mix)’.
