Dj Nephil – The Creation EP [GRTW002]
Gravitational Waves forges ahead in what promises to be distinct form with the second release by the labels founder, the shadowy DJ Nephil. The EP features four moody stompers by this underground stalwart, with a remix from the phenomenally talented JASSS. All are for the roughest of venues, a foray into ominous soundscapes.
Hinode – Uranus [SFRLTD003]
Science Fiction continues their Interplanetary mission, this time they reached Uranus and discovered 3 quality analogue techno tracks, including a brutal remix by Xenogears aka The Analogue Cops.
Hinode – Interstate Highway EP [D3006]
D3 Elements continues its carefully curated run with a new EP from Berlin based Italians, Hinode. Featuring four cuts of tough deep house. Opener ‘State to State’ is a raw, punchy house track with jazzy chords injecting some real soul into the physical beats. Rasping synths and rainy melodies have a hint of the old school about them and ensure that dance floors will be in raptures. ‘Endless World’ is more spacious, with a drunken acid sounding bassline roaming beneath a nicely mechanical groove. It’s one to make you stomp, and so is b-side opener ‘Shades of Grey’ with its bombastic, kicking drums, twinkling melodies and lazy chords. Despite being a sweat inducing house banger, plenty of warmth and musicality remains. Lastly, ‘Memory Alpha’ hurries along with muddled voices, icy hi hats and a flurry of rubbery kicks and squelchy acid stabs. It’s beautifully authentic house music that takes subtle cues from the best of Chicago and Detroit.
Hinode – Neptune [SFRLMT002]
This time Hinode launch their satellite to Neptune, the eighth and farthest planet in the Solar System, in order to explore its dense atmosphere and raw uninhabited texture. Guided by the Roland rhythmical sound, the deep acid tracks wander around dark extraterrestrial dimensions and take their listeners to the bottomless depths of techno jams.
Hinode – Globular Clusters [HLN001]
Limited copies, analog lovers Hinode offer three distinct techno soundspaces to lose yourself in and never come back.
Hinode – Science Fiction Recordings 003 [SFR003]
Hinode is back with another fine Science Fiction release, 4 quality underground jams including an XDB Remix.
Hinode – Pluto [SFRLMT001]
New label continuing the Hinode / Science Fiction legacy, quality interstellar Detroit influenced analog jam’s.
Hinode – Science Fiction Recordings 002 [SFR002]
Hinode is production name for emergent duo Matteo Chisari and Mario Resta, who’ve really hit their stride since making the move from Italy to Berlin, featuring on records with the likes of Patrice Scott, Eduardo De Calle and Amir Alexander. Launched earlier this year, Science Fiction Recordings is Hinode’s label and this second release features four untitled cuts that highlights Chisari and Resta’s ongoing development as Hinode. At times the music draws from the same deeply spiritual pool as the likes of Rick Wade, DJ Qu and Joey Anderson, while other parts sound like something that might come from the Restoration Records camp. A record for house DJs that like to get deep without the pretence.
