VA – Various V [USR031]

“Transference of Energy” by Wedding Acid Group opens the EP in perfect Undersound style. Following that, comes Albert Ess with “Do As I Say,” a crunchy electro beat that will hypnotize your brain. Next, Syntelman presents “Singlestranded,” showcasing his darker and melodic musical vision. Closing the EP, J. Mono returns to Undersound after three years with “Love2.” This track is an ode to resilience, reminding us to stay strong in our darkest moments and that we can overcome anything, no matter what.

Periferico – Red Line [USR025]

‘Red Line’ is a collection of four archival tracks by Periferico, a lesser-known alias of Italian producer Livio Fogli, noted for his activity in the 90s electronic music scene. Lovingly rescued from DAT and now released by Undersound, this is organically lo-fi acid trance to a T, blending charmingly undermixed elements with chimey progressions and tittilating builds.

Richard Brook – Thira Traks [NN03]

NOUN welcomes the UK-based veteran, Richard Brook. He opens the EP with “Caldera V” an emotional breaky workout with an acidic switch halfway through. The unpredictable rhythms and contrasting melodic elements are reminiscent of the golden Sheffield days. On the flip-side “Skaros” is a straight acidic workout with sinister overtones and a steady groove that will keep the dancer glued to the floor at all times of the night.

Böhm – Unsolved Origin [USR024]

As the first release for 2023, Undersound welcomes Böhm with 4 tracks reminiscing of the golden days of UK techno. “Light Transmission” opens the EP at a slower pace, gently inviting the listener to the producer’s musical world. “Solar Limit” picks the pace up with intertwined portamento leads, bass-line and pads. On the flip-side, “Unsolved Origin” continues the artist’s melodic emotional journey. The last track closing the EP, “Monarch Monster”, sees a departure from the producer’s trademark style with EBM/new beat influenced drums.

PRZ – The Answer EP [USR022]

The next Undersound chapter is curated by Israeli artist Gal Perez under his PRZ moniker. While the producer has been known for his rougher outings, here he delights us with a mix of italo-inspired 4/4 jams and electro and break tracks composed in his hardware-laden studio.

Generali Minerali – 808 Dream [USR019]

GENERALI MINERALI - 808 Dream

This Electro 4-tracker from Generali Minerali is the next offering of Undersound. The up-and-coming artist is the booker and sound engineer at the Drama Bar in Tbilisi. He opens the EP with two darker jams with swirly 303 lines on steady 808 rhythms. Influences from the late Microlith permeate these tracks, as the artist mentions him as one of his biggest inspirations. The B-side slows the tempo down with “808 dream” where delayed melancholic melodies are intertwined with rough saw waves. Finally, “Evening Mood” offers the perfect mood for a warm-up or after party with its downtempo swing and drums.

WEDDING ACID GROUP - Pattern Check: Live Recording

Undersound Recordings announce the first cassette release on the label. The tape contains a 27 minutes live jam session by Wedding Acid Group, recorded at Ballacid Studio in 2016. This rare recording was made to check and memorize the patterns for live situations, jamming on analog machines, such as Elektron Monomachine, Mutable Instruments Shruthi 1, Cyclone Analogic TT-303 and Roland TR-909. The tape allows to listen to the recording uninterrupted, from beginning to end, with which the energy of WAG comes into full effect.

Sohrab – Disconnected [USR017]

Undersound is very happy to present a new EP by London-based producer Sohrab. This EP showcases his wide ranging influences, with a diverse sound palette, while demonstrating his already-established personal aesthetic. The EP opens with “The Fool”, a steady four-to-the-floor track with esoteric eastern-tinged melodies, and continues with “Vertical Alignment”, a bassline-led emotional trip with interlocking evolving harmonies. The flip offers two contrasting moods: the rougher “Resolution”, a fast-paced late-night burner, and “Digital Bliss”, whose soothing synths evoke old school Goa vibes.

Wedding Acid Group – Hazelnut Green [USR016]

WEDDING ACID GROUP - Hazelnut Green

Undersound introduces Wedding Acid Group (Galactic Jackson, J. Mono & Saint Leidal The 2nd) and also inaugurate a major redesign of the label. WAG are a group of three friends based in Budapest, jamming on both classic Roland gear, but also modern instruments like the Monomachine. All the tracks were recorded live around 2016 in the Ballacid studio ‘Ujpest’. The EP opens with three fast paced tracks where emotional melodies are intertwined with classic 909, 707 and 606 drums. The flipside presents the uplifting ‘Chocoball 707’ and closes with ‘Paprika Dye Acid’, the slowest jam of the EP. Overall, the tracks offer a glimpse into the emotional world of these three talented Hungarian producers and we are extremely happy to have them on board for their second vinyl release.

Leite Dos Santos – Exoteric EP [USR014]

Undersound Recordings opens the new decade with an electro EP from Leite Dos Santos, alias of an unknown producer. This EP fuses old and new school electro vibes, all tied together by emotional melodies and undertones. The record opens with two broken tracks: ‘Codex Alexandrinus’, a classy track with the highest pace of the EP and the dreamier ‘Texto Sagrado’. On the flipside, the producer switches to a 4/4 formula with ‘Tanakh’ and ‘A Cidade Santa’, closing the EP with melancholic pads over arpeggiated saw basslines.

Jared Wilson – Roland Acid Again EP [USR013]

Undersound returns with a four tracker of restless acid sketches with one of our favourite contemporary Detroit producers, Jared Wilson. As the title “Roland Acid Again” suggests, the EP is a homage to the classic synthesizers that defined electronic music. The EP kicks off with “Always Something” and “Roland Acid Again”, where acidic lines are interlaced with signature Roland drums to convey different moods. Side B showcases a more reflective side of Wilson’s sound, with “Peanutbutter Halloween Saltmix” and the more direct “Nov 27” which closes the EP with its squelchy melodies.

VA – Various [USR011]

The various EP opens with V9843 from Heath Brunner aka Silicon, previously released on the “There Was a Day” white label on V-max records and is a driving melodic techno classic. Next up there’s Manic (Maana Mix) by Erotek, doing what he does best with a ghetto electro beat. On the flipside there’s “Paradox”, an old archival track by Orland Voorn reminiscent of his earlier techno works from the 90s. Eoism close the EP with “Floaters”, a mellow electro track in the vein of the artists previous output on our label.

The A side from MNVR presents a deeper approach with two emotional techno tracks whereas B side from Omni Causa takes a moodier turn with broken electro jams.

Its Disturbance sublabel has been responsible for releasing forward thinking techno and experimental releases from a range of well known artist such as Marco Repetto, Aphex Twin, Speedy J and Atom Heart among others. Here we present three tracks that have previously been released on his Era Vulgaris CD album in 1996. The EP ranges from techno to more abstract broken beats on the flip side, displaying the versatility of It as a producer and encompassing the sound of the first years of Disturbance.

Nicola Kazimir – Liber Al Vel Legis EP [USR003]

This EP represents a further manifestation of sound-expression over sound-design. Each track has it’s own characteristics. It’s a symbiotic EP which combines vintage analogue gear with live digital effects; everything is done in a moment – manipulating things that you can’t calculate but feel.
