Lubree revisits the original motif of Hypress with luminous calculation, launching a series of new releases in the near future. Thus, the first release features electro ballads dipped in gentle rawness along with disco bangers and EBM-styled acid house. The original tracks are produced by “Volta Cab” and the remixes by Rotterdam’s DJ Overdose and Venezuelan-born and Barcelona-based DJ/producer Cardopusher.
Kostantyn Isaev the man behind the project Volta Cab and also Rambal Cochet is now part of the Waste Editions family. The St. Petesburg’s colorful artist has just recorded 6 catchy and powerful tunes which are heavily influenced by the new wave/post punk music of the late 80’s , especially by bands like Кино (Kino) and the Soviet space disco as well.
Russian producer Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab, an artist very much influenced by Goa Trance brings three new tracks with a sound that captivates us to that time, adding New Beat and EBM waves close to ‘Valencia Sound’ and its legendary ‘Ruta Destroy’. The record includes an absolute banger: a Kris Baha remix to burn the dancefloor, as usual.
A new compilation called 606 carefully chosen by the Spanish Waste Editions label and once more intentionally made up of 4 artists who have in common personality and creativity. These four diverse tracks are full of catchy melodies, powerful arpeggios and danceable beats and also speak the same language. Doubtless, this compilation can show anyone no interest in trends and bet on music that the label loves and respects.
Temperatures are dropping and we’re all feeling the effects. Bordello A Parigi is letting the cold winds of the north swirl inside its doors with Russia’s Volta Cab bringing a fresh 2LP to the table. A spread of influences come together for the eleven tracks of Rise Again. Take Emerald’s Phantasy, a piece built on layers of percussion that blends elements of disco with notes of techno. Dark Room is a different affair. Arctic chords are cut with electro and distant vocals for an unsettling treat. Kruger stomps to a terse beat before lush pads bloom in a work that builds to dizzying peaks. Warm blasts balance these colder moments, the rich grooves of Savage Fury, the floor filling funk of Board Scandinavia and the removed romance of Sweet Exorcist all show another shade to the Volta Cab sound and of course there’s more. Rise Again is an audio collection of vibrant colours and hues, tracks pitch from icy blues to autumnal ambers and fiery reds; a musical kaleidoscope that stretches across a spectrum of styles.
Frigio is hooking up with Russian electronic explorer Volta Cab for a four tracker of shadowy disco darkness. Thick drum patterns are shot through with strobe as “Johnny 320” enters the room. Swaggering onto the floor, this greased thug means business. Samples mutter intent as grooves grind and twist their way into the late hours. Juanpablo lowers the lights for his remake. Rhythms richochet and basslines loom in this lewd and dramatic track, a piece born in the grit and sweat of the floor under a haze smoke. The lights are kept low for the flip. “Immortal Fix” spikes and spins, laser beam synthlines cut through rumbling chords with snares that do more than just bear teeth. Italy’s Hesperius Draco closes Johnny 320 with giallo horror grandeur. Beats and words are shrouded in lilting strings for this sinister curtain fall.
For Illusion Recordings 6th edition we travel across Europe to the current deep house mecca of Russia to present Volta Cab for his Illusion debut. This is not your typical house release and that’s the way we like it. This eclectic EP crosses many genres from Soul to Hip Hop to Deep House and shows off a dexterity of sound Illusion has been building towards since its first release. Featuring remixes by Trus’me and Creative Swing Alliance.
Volta Cab present a new release on Finale Sessions, including 4 tracks. “Empire Times” is a throwback to the early nineties classic New York signature four on the floor sound with fuel injected synths and a great dance floor peak time get down groove. The other tracks differ from an 80’s disco sound to massive deep techno.
