Zooloft Records is approaching to the era of future tech-noir and this release is the result of an internal process of thoughts and ideas behind them. It tells the story of a sad wanderer who is trying to find the path to personal truth. Outside, a desolate scenario of modern architectures of cold glass, standing to the edge of horizon. A wonderland of mirrors and empty landscapes: the triumph of solitude.
The A side is a powerful techno machine with Zooloft’s trademark, a compound of solid and precise rhythms driven by a dangerous deep bass. It digs a mindblowing path with contribution from drones and effects. B1 is from Milton Bradley, who delivers a dark techno track in his own pure style. Sinister echoes move forward and backward into a tunnel, trying to escape from claustrophobic beats and surreal atmosphere. The EP is closed by a Zooloft remix of Milton Bradley’s track.
New EP on Zooloft coming from Obtane & Giorgio Gigli. The EP is opening with an up-building, dramatic techno anthem. On the other side, Mike Parker delivers a pulsating and acidic techno driver where heart impulses are generated by a disturbed soul, creating spasms and panic feelings. The EP get closed by a strongly romantic drone track that tells us love is still the only way-out.
Brand new Zooloft, coming from Giorgio Gigli. ‘Skulking In The Shadow’ represents an epidermal future, similar to the actual present, ruled by oldness and decadaence. A crowded future under rain and partial darkness, where just cars lights can give some brightness to the chaotic traffic, where grey skies are furrowed by flying cars. People speaks a mix of languagges: french, japanese, spanish and many others. They dress up in many different ways and this seems the only way to communicate. They move around as an unique conformed mass with interior solitude.
Zooloft’s ‘Looking Through a Mindscape’ EP is a decidedly dark new cut from Giorgio Gigli and Obtane. A little more digital than Basic Channel or Echospace, the rhythms and soundscapes are much more poly-textured, metallic and foreboding; making for a dramatic listening experience whether at home or in the club.
Deep and minimized acid techno rubs from a consortium of Giorgio Gigli, Obtane and nAX_Acid. ‘The Child That Was Watching The Moon’ perhaps warrants the acid tag more with its detuned and grumbling low end modulations occurring under streamlined layers of modern classical techno drums. ‘The Moon That Was Watching The Child’ on the flip serves a groovier function with a tech-house swing anchored by a fat bass yet still keeping focussed on pristine synths.
The third release from Zooloft, Contextualised in Monochrome is brilliant wax featuring dystopian visions, collapsing psychedelics and raw techno.
Inspired by a post-nuclear structure, Zooloft are building up a solid fortress to avoid natural catastrophes. While Obtane is constructing a solid and deep basement of storm-proof pulsations and dry rhythms, Giorgio Gigli is finishing up the work adding ultra-moody and mind blowing atmospheres to make your new home a perfect heaven.
