This time around, he raises the bar with “Your Club Went Hollywood” – a sensual, soulful groove that dares to ask what we’ve all been wondering: What happened to the Underground? If the original version asks the question, Detroit producer Aaron‐Carl provides the answer with a dark, winding remix that commands the dancefloor. A useful acapella rounds out the release.

The flip side offers a more experimental take, fusing the stomping and jazzy drums of “Agrafena” with the deconstructed sound fragments of the prelude, that make “Dream & Delirium” a truly phantasmagoric yet mysteriously dark but hot-blooded affair.

There’s three original tracks from the Jagged boys, that center around the raw, deep sounds of Detroit. The difference is that Jagged’s sound is more homage that replication – their own personality shines through their productions. And as is the case with their previous releases, they’ve got a heavy remix to go with their own tracks. This time the honour goes to Aardvarck, one half of the Rednose District, who roughen up the original of “Ten To Twelve” and turn it into a big, synth heavy anthem!

Superb acid tracks combine with a disco edit! Portuguese man-of-war Humberto Matias AKA Social Disco Club comes with a rework of Funkytown.. nothing essential on could say! But on the flip two superb original acid tracks. Version 1 is an uptempo acid workout, while Version 2 slows down the pace and is a truly blissful piece of music.
The remix series from Scuba’s album ‘A Mutual Antipathy’ first saw the alias SCB, as well as the well received mix on mnml ssgs, Scuba delivers the first SCB release on the same titled label. Fusing his very atmospheric and delicate brewing sound with his previously half-established four over four tradition (that got high recognition with the excellent ‘Houndreds & Thousands’ on Hotflush a year back).
