2024 Best Tracks part. 2 (of 10)

We start presenting our favorite tracks from 2024. More or less in a chronological order we present here the second set of tracks.

L.F.T. on Pinkman with ‘Asche’. Tough drums and raw basslines are the wire frames around which spectral vocals and percussive quirks breathe and coil.

Cold wave duo The KVB presented this year the new album ‘Tremors’ on Invada Records. ‘Labyrinths’ it’s the most aggressive track on the album and a nod to some of their early releases.

Up In Smoke‘ by Detroit’s Filthiest, released on French label Syncrophone, is a rhythmic exploration, featuring infectious funk-infused beats and a distinctive style that pays homage to the city’s illustrious musical heritage. Detroit’s Filthiest seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, creating an electrifying experience that echoes the Motor City’s iconic sound.

Let Them Know‘ is the debut EP by Bobby Dreams, marking the inaugural release of All Nice Records from Lisbon. This record is a groundbreaking introduction to the label’s ethos, characterized by a raw, distorted, and authentically underground sound, paying homage to the gritty energy of Chicago’s underground house scene.

‘You Are Not Alone’ is the second track by Anatolian Weapons in this list. This track is part of “Dalmata Space Anthem for Intergalactic FM” compilation, a worldwide homage to this influential platform, featuring artists from diverse corners of the globe with connections to IFM and the label Dalmata Daniel, showcasing a vibrant spectrum of electronic club music.

Chicago second generation house hero Boo Williams on Sushitech’s sub label Pariter with ‘Service Chamber’, a sleeker and more mellow, telephone dial tones spiralling off into the ether while tinkling, xylophone-sounded keys play hypnotically.

Sorry About The Album‘, the last song from Betonkust’s Tropicana Tracks EP released by Altered Circuits is a melody-focused underwater electro tracks.

Another one from Pinkman. This time is Timothy J. Fairplay with his sonic excursions into raw, jacking, yet evocative house music. ‘Outdoor Survival’ rattles through drum-machine workouts topped with soaring synthlines, inviting you to spiral in the club’s darkest corners. Between the shuffled claps, ominous melodics and delay-laden syncopation, ‘Outdoor Survival’ playfully evokes both the mechanical exploration of urban space, and the claustrophobic intimacies encountered within it.

The project Modern Analysis is a vintage analog duo comprised of duKe and AFQ. On the latest Nation release, the duo unites forces with a special contribution from William Kincaid to create ‘Kaotic Dilemma‘ a moody, potent, hallucinogenic synthesis of vintage machine rhythms, electronics and musicianship with jakbeat philosophy and Detroit techno soul, evoking forgotten haunting dreams and dystopian futures.

Sneaker’s appearance on the Deep Cover series flaunts his love for Italo and Synth music and ‘Die Nachricht’ with its tenor vox synths, stabby basses and uplifting atmosphere perfectly embodies this.

More to come. Stay tuned.
