Cassegrain – ARCS-02 [ARCS002]

The second release on Arcing Seas by label heads Cassegrain. This new material presents the duo’s very individual approach to tonality within the techno framework, combined with a subtle tribal influ-ence. Maintaining their aim, they keep things exciting for the club as well as sonically. Label info: Arcing Seas is an anagram of Cassegrain. It started out as a secret alias, releasing a couple EPs on Our Circula Sound. The secret was less well kept after the duo appeared at Berghain under this name. A year later, after deciding to start a label, it finally made sense to bring the two together.

Credit 00 – So High EP [CHIWAX024]

CREDIT 00 - So High EP

Rawax welcomes Alexander Dorn aka Credit 00 to the Rawax Family. Back in the days at the west-Saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. When Credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on Tetris’ final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. Since then it actually hasn’t changed that much. He keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. Jacking box/club tracks by the bad boy from Dresden.

The Violet Hour – Utraviolet [CDA015]

The Violet Hour is the exclusive project of Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara and Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau, for Berlin imprint Cocktail d’Amore Music. One Morning In The Future takes over the A side. A total dancefloor pleaser. Treating us with Chicago house-inspired drums and that kind of cosmic pads that make any seasoned raver jump and kiss a nearby stranger. The intensity never stops growing – with new melodic strings appearing unexpectedly, projecting the track to the rings of Saturn. An involving italo-classic bassline characterizes Ultraviolet, together with an explosive layering of synthy melodies. The B2 Prisoner Of Love is a seductive dialogue between synthesizers and classic piano, resulting in a comforting, romantic soundtrack for any space travels. These two tracks illuminate feelings of looking at a violet sky, but with different attitudes: the first pushes into the unknown looking for a happy ending, while the second is nostalgic and tender.

Savage Grounds – Atrocities [LXRC30]

Savage Grounds return to Lux Rec for the third time, with their third record. Atrocities comes after Unpleasant Music for Unpleasant People, released in 2015, and Over Fences, 2014. It is, as much as the previous 2, the result of investigations in music, live, composed with a minimum amount of instruments. The duo, comprised of CCO and Daniele Cosmo, worked with a Roland 606, a Roland 909 and a modular synthesiser. Experimenting with FM modulation and loose sequences. The result is concrete noise, anger, ghostly voices, and above all, the sheer conscience of human failures. Atrocities marks number 30 in the Lux Rec catalogue.
