The new Finale Sessions signing is Parisian Aleqs Notal. “Linea” with its lush keys and pads moving in and out to monsterous deep bass great deepness for sure. Track two “Scenium” is deep track with a great sound that moves in and out of the dancefloor with its techier pads and massive drums most def a late night killer . Last but not least we have the track “Disparity” with its fantastic drum programming, wavering pads and keys this a great chill track to get the party going right.

Slow Futur features two jugglers (Elsa Guérin and Martin Palisse) on a treadmill (8 x 2m) which carries them along a neon light installation which delimits the choreographic space as a kind of space-time tunnel: “the hyperspace”. Their minimalist juggling practice – with 3 white balls each – plays with opposite movements like acceleration/immobility, synchronization/progressive transformation, and thus evokes a way of making the body face the inexorable passing of time. The music of Zombie Zombie, repetitive and floating, as a vector of the choreographic mechanic, mixes analog electronic sounds and acoustic rhythms that rise in intensity in order to bring the two jugglers into a frantic and hypnotic rush, whereas the treadmill submits their bodies
to a movement independent of their will, so becoming an infernal machine. Between abstraction and representation of reality, Slow Futur questions the relationships between human beings, where the individualism caused by the modern world leads to loneliness, as the human condition is reduced to a simple machine which robotic movements are devoid of emotion. Elsa Guérin and Martin Palisse are not only renewing the image of today’s circus but also continuing their research on the choreographic, dramatic and poetic potential of juggling.

Dark Entries has always been rather canny when it comes to their Italo-disco reissues, often unearthing obscurities from one-shot artists who disappeared just as quickly as they arrived. Ghibli was one such artist. He only ever released one single, I’m Looking For You, back in 1985. That it still sounds fresh, despite its’ obvious period features – bubbling, Bobby Orlando style synthesizer sequences, bold chords and a heavily accented Italian vocals – is testament to the skill of the record’s original producer, Alfredo Baraldi. As with the original pressing, this Dark Entries edition comes back with the superior Instrumental version.

Re-press of the Original Italo-Disco Hit Recorded in 1983 by 18-year-old producer Roberto Ferrante and voiced by otherwise unknown Douglas Roop, a soldier who was working at the south Europe NATO headquarters in Naples. “Come on Closer” was such a classic of early Chicago house that original pressings sell on eBay for upwards of $200.

Cititrax present the second in a series of four song samplers showcasing the talents of some of the most innovative producers of the moment. Tracks Volume Two features the fearless and ultra-talented Chinese producer Tzusing, the raw avant-garde electronics of London based producer L/F/D/M, creative West Coast powerhouse Silent Servant, and prolific underground French producer Maelstrom. The overall sound can be described as modern, uncompromising and guttural. Each artist reinvents dance music by bringing their own unique vision to the floor.

This various contains a dark, slow, atmospheric track by long date hunter, Drvg Cvltvre to introduce the record heavily and to conduct your dreams. Then, the break’ n’ experimental track by Goolyk is following on the Z side. About the Y side, two pure techno tracks for body & mind, between acidic lines from the satanic player Run X and some deconstruct music by the rAver Damcase.

Ghost Culture returns to Phantasy with ‘Safe/Multiply’. An unashamedly club-rooted double single, both tracks find Ghost Culture’s expert electronic manipulation in more direct mode. Killer openings track somewhere between bleepy UK rave techno, Detroit techno and mid90’s trance, flip side is a heavy pulsating trancey cut that will cause damage on the dancefloors.

For the latest missive on her ever-impressive Love On The Rocks imprint, Paramida has turned to Detroiter Sharif Laffrey. “Key Jam (A.C.I.D)” is something of a sleazy, late night treat, with Laffrey expertly combining proto-house style drums and bass, with wonky, pitched-down vocal samples, freestyle synth refrains, the alien pulse of electro, and – of course – some ragged acid lines. There’s a lot going on across the nine-minutes, but Laffrey’s focus on the power of the groove remains in tact throughout.

To celebrate Kontra-Musik Records hitting the ten-year mark, founder and label owner Ulf Eriksson has put together a collection of some of our finest releases. This has been a daunting task, for we are happy to announce that we could easily have made several very different compilations that we would have been equally contented with – there are so many superb tracks we had to leave out. This has, however, been a labour of love. Much like the label itself. Eclecticism has always been a lodestar for Ulf Eriksson, as we hope this collection gives testimony to. The label has always been moving freely between techno, house and more experimental sounds. Kontra-Musik intends to show different angels of perspective, not to convert you to a new Religion or Ideology. Being open to a broad variety of sounds and rhythms – judging them not solely by their functionality but rather by their personality – has been the Kontra-Musik way from day one. While it has been a crooked and sometimes exceedingly hard road to follow, we’re hoping to carry on for several years to come. After 10 years, the label still feels meaningful and current to us – in short: it’s still worth it. For the 5th installment in the Planet Rhythm White series, Spanish hardware icon ”Eduardo De La Calle” returns to Planet Rhythm with his ”Adept to the light EP”. ”TR3B Conspiracy” serves as the opener which combines odd rhythmic arps and subtly placed drum sequences to make a somewhat uncanny atmosphere. On the B side we find ”Ranchor Will Cut The Mood” which is a repetitive techno cut that should be useful for after hours. The Doubt Of The Unknown (B2) has a somewhat foreboding title. It’s a FX heavy synth jam that uses oddball synthesis and nicely placed FX chains that evolve throughout.

The Motech label has been building a high reputation of late but it’s actually been three years since co-owner, Detroit’s DJ 3000 (Franki Juncaj) released a 12inch of his own. Putting that to rights, he delivers ‘Take Me Away’ and featured is a deadly remix by Truncate.

Dutch power duo Doms & Deykers a.k.a Steffi (Steffie Doms) and Martyn (Martijn Deykers) step up to the plate with a brand new action packed offering. Following up their “Fonts for the People EP” and their track “Whirling” on Ostgut Ton’s Zehn LP, the two take their continuous collaboration to a new level. The three tracks on “Dedicated to those who feel” see Steffi and Martyn recognizing their respective strengths, combining their 90s heritage with a vision of the future, modern techno soul with all its flaws and bright euphoric moments. “Dedicated to those who feel” serves as the introduction to a full length Doms & Deykers LP, scheduled for later this year.

Anom Valley follows Damcase’s recent outing on Bunker and positions the Greek producer as a leading light in hard techno. There is a rough, raw feel throughout this release for Bas Mooy’s label; “Delete Scene” is mired in distorted kicks and noisy, barb wire percussion and both “Rusty” and “Towards Them” resound to titanium-powered steel drums. “Interlogon” is probably the most extreme track, thanks to its grisly, punishing rhythm, but Damcase also has a funkier side. He showcases this on “Rn 45” and “X Gun”, where hypnotic electronic pulses, although encased in weeping layers of white noise, see him get his groove on.

Italian analogue techno and noise worship from MEZE, who constructs 4 heavy bangers with his modular gear. One of the talents to watch, this guy, blending industrial rhythms with dark melodies.
