Dario Zenker delivers 3 tasty cuts of techno for Frozen Border 13.

After years of playing and working together side by side, in 2011 Dario and Marco Zenker emerged in official collaboration as Zenker Brothers with ”Berg 10 EP”. Now, they are back with their first release for Tresor, brandishing a matured sound and level of sensitivity yet displayed by either before. ‘Lion In Mars’ is like a fresh breeze billowing through the Tresor vaults. Honing in on signatures from the archive and repackaging them in modern sentiment.

Concrete unleash a series of Textures, representing their diverse and hugely popular events. On this release we have four tracks by Bleak, Dario Zenker, Abdulla Rashim and Behzad & Amarou.

Volume 2 in the ‘Compiled Pleasures’ series, featuring some underground key figures and tastemakers. ‘Aim Vinyl’ labelhead Tristen delivers an ultradeep and rolling deephouse track in his very own tradition. Dario Zenker’s ‘Dining’ is an uncompromising lecture in clever simplicity, straight in your face and stomach. Freestyle Man, the finnish oldschoolmaster drops a big synth-peaktime bomb. And British newcomers Dax J and Chris Stanford deliver a dubby and deep dancefloor shaker.

The mystical fairy tale of lord Chris De Slurgh of the highest bavarian highlands ends here. It was just a matter of time until the malignant and breathtaking small Sepp Spidin unleashed his Healin chi waves to conquer Tape Castle. Therefore lady Calyx, the lords beloved affair with each of her fingers of 180g weight, requested a chastity out of the purest vinyl only to continue Filming Arroyo without any fear. And then Bavaria was born. In other words this 4 tracker supported by your mum manages to come along heavy without rippin off some folk song and putting some lame ass ritterbeat underneath it.

The third split 10″ from DeepLabs and Revival Records. The DeepLabs side is a raw Detroit techno cut “Transition” by Martin Muller aka YouAndMe. The Revival side is “MS612″ by Dario Zenker, a deep and forceful techno groover with a moody bassline.

Time To Express welcomes back Dario Zenker for his second release on the label. After 2010’s euphoric ”Insirer” Dario increases the tension with ”Cat Stance”. Label owner Peter Van Hoesen provides a rolling remix.

The fifth release on Baud music is the 2029 EP by Dario Zenker. Distorted dub imitations rooted in a rhythmic foundation, supplemented with penetrating driving shakes, shape the character of the first track “The Chief”. A floating, thumping bass line and claps with elegant dreamy strings characterize the second track “Least one” on the A side. The flip side welcomes us with “Sherhood” with his straight solid beat and a dominant, catchy hook. “Alen” combines Dubtechno and Dupstep into free-floating wave elements and obscures the perception of the 4/4 time, which transfers the listener into a state of suspense.

Dario Zenker is back on Vakant with the label’s first release for 2012. 5 tracks that almost make a mini album but with pretty much individual tunes, with a touch of the more dark and sinister side of Vakant. Starting with ‘Where Are You’, a haunting yet hoping track that once again takes Dario as close to Detroit as one can get while living in the capital of Bavaria. Next one is ‘Hype’, less elusive than the opener, with a heavy drum pattern that demands a strong sound system to flower out completely. ‘Steppin To’ carries a bass line as thick and heavy as it can be and might be the most moody track of this package. Two more, ‘Works’ and ‘Tassel’, but we leave it up to you to discover, as writing about music we think is very limited due to its nature.

Ilian Tape is closing 2011 with the release the ‘Transzendental’ compilation featuring 10 tracks contributed by 11 artists from 6 countries: LaChriz, Regen, Lucas Mari, Marco Zenker & David Ruoff, Franco Cinelli, Seuil, Stenny, Dario Zenker, Jonas Kopp and Imugem Orihasam.

After the successful Zenker Brothers record, we continue with a solo record by Dario Zenker. It sounds like Dario bought some healthy food, went to McDonalds and ate it there to provoke some marketing campaign against intensive livestock farming. We know for a fact that he has an unlimited love for good food, dirty old school hip hop, porn, broken beats and kung fu by the way. His flat on the 5th floor gets a lot of Light during the summer and also heats up a lot. Can you smell the sweat? Speaking of sweat, you should check out Inner Circle’s „Sweat“. Instead of a proper high 5, we would even Give 6 for this one! Oh what a bad way of trying to make some sense with the track title…but honestly „Give 6“ is a hard one.

Great techno on the Frozen Border label with three solid subtle atmospheric & swinging tracks.

Varianz present a remix pack for Raeyk’s “Asleep”, featuring two great remixes from Dario Zenker and Samuli Kemppi.

Ilian Tape presents the first record from Dario & Marco. The namings of the EP and tracks are inspired by the period when the Zenker Brothers lived in a small village in the Bavarian countryside, but the sound of the release have nothing in common with the Bavarian scenery. The EP includes three deep techno dub infused tracks in the Zenker style.

Esperanza presents “Purple” by Dario Zenker. This record is a tribute to Dario’s childhood influenced by the Turbo Boost beyond the purple sky and David Hasselhoff’s outfits.
