Reissue for this super-rare space funk album from 1983, one of the holy grails of the Cosmic scene. Extremely expensive and hard-to-find in the original, this LP was created by legendary French producers Jean-Pierre Massiera and Bernard Torelli (listed here as Areisam and Bernie) and released on French label Savoir Faire. It is a superb example of the duos innovative electronic disco madness, always pushing boundaries while remaining supremely funky. Stand-outtracks are the Italo classic “Challenger” – heady synths, tough bass and astronaut vocals combine in a strange space odyssey, “Cruisin”, a superb electro-boogie style cut with a hypnotic driving bassline, and the fantastic “On The Border”, a tight funky percussive workout whipped by wild space-rock guitars.

Secret Mixes and Fixes brings more tight edits from The Fanstasy, Detroit…Bill Withers, AR & Machines, Chris & Cosey and Everyday People.

Let’s Get Lost volume 13 welcomes Jacques Renault aboard once more with some synthesizer prodded orchestral disco for the first two tracks and a saxophone and choir led afrobeat gem to round things off.

“Cameloen Chameleon” is the follow up to the hugely successful Cocaine Blues and finds NY disco band Escort goin’ tropical with fun, sunny vibes that takes cues from Kid Creole and the Coconuts. The track rides a catchy midtempo groove with a latin/tropical twist and is chock full of catchy vocals and melodies to make the crowd move. The club mix injects some thumping 4/4 kicks and ups the tempo just enough to hit the dancefloor hard. Also includes the Club dub edit.

In music, phrygian mode is dissonant, dark, depressive and gloomy. Its use was even forbidden in classical Greece for centuries because it was considered pagan. The sound of phrygian mode is rather exotic… This track was composed 30 years ago and now for the first time on vinyl. Old Belgian electronic band Twilight Ritual has authorized Frigio to re-edit an amazing song from their early 80,s album Rituals. To accompany the original version, we have an awesome remix by Sneaker (Uncanny Valley) who created a club oriented version of it.

Veteran of the fist-pumping kind of electro inhabited by Miss Kittin and I-F, it’s not so often you see a new release from The Hacker these days. Still, he’s made it back to deliver three Italo-flavoured nuggets on Tigersushi in the style of romantic 80s arpeggios and fat synths he made his name on. “Through The Ether” is unashamedly cosmic in its tone, boasting elegiac reams of melody over those steadily pulsing bass notes. A rasping snare gives “Mind Games” a marginally tougher edge, but really this is sweet songwriting for swooning swingers on the dancefloor.

New release by Gavin Russom on Ntrop Recordings. Gavin breathes life into his new Knight Skyy moniker with a magnificent sci-fi acid marathon that will have all the analog gear junkies grinding their teeth in ecstasy.

Falling is the second full release on the excellent Voyeurhythm imprint from Megadon Betamax aka Mostyn. The mid tempo poise of “Falling” is perfectly embellished by intricate rib tickling synth work, perma floating vocals and is further charmed by a dash of surf guitar! Rayko’s debut on American Standard label is a typically infectious reworking of a disco oddity, replete with the sort of chugging bassline and snapping percussion that teases people onto the dancefloor.
