Boston based production duo and room-mates John Barera & Will Martin continue their journey into sculptural, storytelling House music, with their debut album on Dolly – ‘ Graceless’. The pair’s work has found a wider audience since the success of ‘Reality’, which found its way into the hands of Berlin’s Steffi, and acted as a central gear and in her 2013 Panorama 05 Mix. John Barera has been a firm disciple of the House and Techno world for the past 10 years, and after launching Supply Records in 2011 has brought an elegant, resoundingly universal mixture of underground club tracks to the fore. A fresh and fruitful partnership with close friend Will Martin grew out of the pair’s rapidly growing studio, and the latest results can be found here over the 8 cool, classy and refined contemporary House tracks.

Warmer than warm club/techno groovers by the man Brooks Mosher, delivering his third release on Dolly. 4 very strong cuts with exactly that dreamy & sensual feeling which might be the main reason why we like to dance & sweat in the dark so much… body to body with the eyes closed, far away from everyday trouble.

Labelboss Steffi hooking up with long-time buddy and musical boy wonder Dexter again. Over 15 years ago they started the Klakson label and the rest is history. Sounding more fresh than ever Steffi & Dexter deliver 3 razor sharp dancefloor bombs that will unite dancefloors worldwide. All the elements are there: aquatic electro arpeggio’s, jacking 808 beats, bouncing analogue strings and basslines, all topped off with that euphoric Detroit techno feel.

John Barera & Will Martin delivering some straight up & effective no-nonsense house music on Dolly 18. Three powerful and euphoric contemporary club tracks with both that classic club feel and that esoteric Detroit touch, effectively combining the best of both worlds. Third Side on the other hand (the hardware techno formation consisting of Dolly labelboss Steffi & The Analogue Cops) is taking things into slightly deeper and darker techno territories with their driving and hypnotic remix of ‘Milestones’… Great allround dj package that will stay in many bags for a long time.

XDB returns on Dolly with the ‘Ganivon’ EP, the follow-up of his excellent ‘Recago’ ep from 2011. XDB is once again delivering the goods, with 3 top-notch contemporary techno tracks filled with his trademark hypnotic melodies, lush strings and solid groovin beats. Favourite is ‘Tonik’ with its classic Detroit-feel and special atmosphere. Berlin/Berghain based Answer Code Request is doing the remix job for ‘Ganivon’, resulting in an effective techno bomb which perfectly combines industrial techno elements with the Dolly feel. ‘Recago’ might have been hard to surpass, but XDB might just have done it.

The return of the Dutch masters of deep! Rotterdam techno veterans Duplex show how it’s done with three lush & warm interstellar techno tracks from that forgotten future… Pure, dedicated and very well-crafted. This will orbit the dancefloor straight into outer space. And as an extra the Steven Tang remix of ‘Jx3PO’ to heat things even more up.

Great follow up of Dolly Dubs 01! Once again Staffan Lindberg is delivering. His nice & smooth ‘The Orbit’ is a great & optimistic club track that will have the sun shine on any floor, with the mighty Trevino remix adding a slightly rough edge to the original version. But don’t let the easy-going fool you! The b-side dives in deeper territories with ‘Y2K’ that reminds a bit of early Kevin Saunderson works, and ‘Feel like dancing’, which is a proper sexy house burner for the morning hours. Wonderful & diverse release.

Leonid delivering some real deep house gems! Amazing warm & subtle groovy tracks with a techy edge and some distant Detroit echo’s… pure bliss. Maybe not peak time tracks but very well suited for building up tension, or for the early after hours… when the sun rises again.

Outstanding EP on Dolly again, who keeps on delivering at the highest level. Four equally strong tracks (of which three will be featured on Steffi’s upcoming Panoramabar mix cd) by Dexter, Third Side, John Barera & Will Martin, and label lady Steffi herself. Crossing the thin line of contemporary house & techno with slight hints of acid and proper US deep house, but basically all just can described as strong & plain groove, for maximum dancefloor delight.

Big follow-up of Dolly Dubs 1 by Martyn. Both ‘Newspeak’ and ‘What is room 101’ are ecstatic contemporary house tracks making you remember once again what this music is all about. Pure bliss. ‘Oceania’ on the other hand goes deeep, very intense track with beautiful broken beats and mesmerizing melodies for the more adventurous dj

Firm yet seductive Detroit-rooted techno tracks by Johannes Volk all with his trademark 909 drum programming and hypnotic synth- & basslines, perfectly connecting past with the present. Deep, raw, stomping, grooving, rocking and no-nonsense. Featuring an even deeper & rawer remix by Unbalance.

New Dolly sublabel. As Dolly is mainly focussed on classic Detroit/Chicago inspired house and techno, Dolly Dubs will widen the spectrum. First up is Staffan Lindberg from Sweden who delivers four excellent modern and sharply produced house/club tracks that will work on any floor.

The Oliverwho Factory on Dolly. The mysterious duo from Detroit delivers a relentless techno/house workout in two versions, with all trademark Oliverwho elements present including soulful vocals. Raw, deep, funky, soulful, futuristic… in other words: Detroit techno as it should be.

Chicago’s Steven Tang with four brand new tracks, with Tang’s unique trademark blend of raw jacking Chicago beats and Detroit-inspired atmospheres. One of the few contemporary techno artists that truly delivers music for both body and soul.

Brooks Mosher’s return on Dolly with three hot new tracks, with his trademark analog synths and catchy hooks all present, effectively shape-shifting between moody Detroit / classic Chicago house and just plain & uplifting comtemporary underground club music.

Dolly’s first release in 2012 and immediately setting a high standard for the year to come! This time Aroy Dee under his M>O>S> disguise is delivering the deepness. Present as usual are his trademark vintage synths & drums, but this goes beyond the average retro Chicago stuff… skillfull on the machines while it’s very clear the music comes from deep within. Marcel Fengler on remix duty adds a little techno punch, which perfectly tops of this very fine release.

This time it’s XDB delivering the goodies for Dolly, as always pushing the boundaries between house and deep techno. With this 4 excellent cuts XDB is taking the label in even deeper territories. Even though they are very well playable and will easily rock the floor, taking it up to somewhere between jupiter & mars, XDB’s tracks are more than just proper dj-tools. So well-crafted, deep, harsh and hypnotising, but always firmly keeping floor contact with minimal yet funky drum programming, exactly as this kind of music should be. To top things of, Brooks Mosher on remix duties delivers a Detroit inspired remix of ‘Sunda’.

Basic Soul Unit, with his personal blend from Chicago house, Detroit Techno, UK post Detroit techno, delivers three warm techno tracks. Shed is on remix duties and he comes with a rough attitude, raw, deep and challenging.
