Q3A – Q3A EP [DEERIII]

The third release on Black Venison comes from Q3A, a moniker of the Hungarian producer Route 8.
Mystic Jungle – Terror From The Deep [EAS008]

The second episode of the Mystic Jungle saga, a mini-album emerged from the deepness on Early Sounds Collective. Once again Mystic Jungle, across the course of six tracks, serves up raw, machine made sounds that are beautifully weird and oddly dancey. From jacking house to blissful downbeat via cosmic acid and noodly, jazzed up lounge sounds, it makes for a charming ride.
Honesty / Adjowa – Parages 008 [PM008]
Cliff Lothar – Soul Plonk EP [OMD003]

Fine modern electronic dance music by Cliff Lothar who is on duty for the third release on Omnidisc.
VA – Four Shades [NLRN003]

The label Unlearn is now back with a various artists EP with four tracks by Kasper Marott, JKamata, Caseer and Misi.
Paul du Lac – Creme Podcast #27
Ilija Rudman – True Colours [IIBLP003]

Surprisingly, it’s been some four years since Croat producer Ilija Rudman dropped his much-played debut album, The Reveal, on Bear Funk. Happily, True Colours – his first outing on Is It Balearic – sees him in fine form, joining the dots between kaleidoscopic synth-funk, rubbery dub-disco, spaced-out boogie and glassy-eyed downtempo jams. Rudman is an expert at capturing the sounds of bygone eras, usually through the use of vintage equipment, while delivering tracks that sound thoroughly fresh and original. It’s this that makes True Colours such a fantastic set. Highlights are plentiful, from the close dance smoothness of “Bad Passion” and boogie dub vibes of “All The Time” (check the delay-laden hits and sweeping violins) to the jaunty electro-goes-Balearic brilliance of “Wild Guess”.
VA – Lunes De Fiel Vol. 2 [BM003]

Bitter Moon has criss-crossed Europe to gather a trio of heavy House hitters for Lunes De Fiel Vol. 2. Creme Organization prodigy Innershades gets the show on the road with the synth slamming groove of “Moments of Euphoria”. New Beat memories bounce alongside rumbling rhythms in track guaranteed to ignite speakers. Next stop is Germany with Snuff Crew and “Your Hands”. The Jack experts fillet their trademark raw edges for a smooth and soulful piece of late night Chitown. Smoke curls around chords, claps are softened as samples turn in a twilight haze. The final destination, Italy, is bathed in the 303 sunshine of “#Acid”. The White Rabbit Recordings founder uses the building blocks of Chicago to produce a fluid floor filler. Cymbals, cow-bells, toms and snares are soaked in a devilish brew of Acid. Bohemian body jerk to a 4/4 beat to bring down the curtain on this latest instalment of Lunes De Fiel.

L Neils – Beta EP [EVR017]

First release of the year on Echovolt’s regular catalog comes by the somewhat mysterious ex Ireland and now Australia based artist L Neils, with four stripped down and uncompromising cuts forming a worthy sophomore release.
Man Power – Trans EP [TOB049]

The anonymous Man Power makes his debut on Throne of Blood with the label’s first release in 2015. With “Trans” Man Power turns in a peaktime monster with soaring, frankly uncharacteristic optimistic rushes. Berlin’s Discodromo strips things down a bit delivering a version reminiscent of something that would have smashed up a Wicked party in San Francisco circa ’96. Man Power returns to familiar dark and driving analogue territory on the flip with “Blue Suite.” WT Records mainman Willie Burns closes out the 12” with tearing, arpeggio-heavy mix that pumps things up for the dancefloor.
Masanori Nozawa – Medium EP [ME001]

Epic and emotive tracks by Japanese producer Masanori Nozawa on his vinyl debut. Featuring quality remixes by Hiroshi Watanabe aka Kaito and Yuuki Hori. Another sign that Japan has a lively scene with talented producers.
Austerity – The Return Of The Ottoman Empire [AUSTERITY005]

”The austerity policies imposed by the governments of Northern Europe countries has impoverished the Mediterannean lands. The failure of Bruxelles’ bureaucracy has smoothed the way for th return of the Ottoman empire. Austerity is a collective of protesting producers coming from the periphery of the European Union. Their tough-sounding music is a reaction to the unfair decison of the Troika; their message of peace is conveyed through hardware hard-core house music. ”
DJ Spider – Upon The Gates Of The Great Depth [PBR041LP]

Menacing beats by DJ Spider are presented here in a double vinyl package. There is plenty of material here for dance floor damage as well as mental. Plan B Recordings is on top of its game with it’s 41st release and with many more to come.
VA – Bokhari Presents EP [BK012]

Another Various Artists special from the mighty Bokhari camp. Two fresh tracks from the Lord Lucan-esque disappearing Russian, Kirill Tipo. Creta Kano on the flip gives us a slice of electro that sounds like it could have been made in 1988, with a bassline that’ll be in your head for days. Joe Europe returns with another slice of deepness for those who like some musical content in their house.
VA – The First True Language Of The Universe Volume 2 [MATH079]

Mathematics Recordings presents the second retrospective volume of their releases. Tracks by Andreas Gehm, Deviere, Ra Thout & The Brigante’s Orchestra and John Heckle.
Legowelt – Tondalayo [RVRT005]
VA – The Dying Lights [LXRC023]

Lux Rec enters its fifth year of existence. A time of adventures in electronic sounds, exploring the margins and the darkest corners. To celebrate all victories and failures Cosmo & Faber compiled this release, the number 23, collecting material from old acquaintances and musicians that are new to the label. The Dying Lights is a collection of tracks that reflects the path Lux Rec followed these past years, acid, low-fi, analog rudimental techno, melodies of pain and sorrow. Six tracks on two vinyls, from light to dark, to accompany you, soothe and haunt you, to the only known end. Tracks tracks by Villa Abo, CCO, Juanpablo & Sneaker, Drvg Cvltvre, Echo 106 and Luciano Lamanna & Daniele Cosmo.
Marco Bernardi – Laffer Ep Part 2 [BAR002.2]

Part 2 of the Laffer EP Marco Bernardi on Barba is going head down, straight ahead and striving for energy. Attack of the Dessert Stormers is an overload of dark electro power, six minutes of squirming bassline-driven movement with surges of intensity from analogue bleeps and subtle drum pattern shifts. There’s no let up on the flip side where Two Sliders brings equal force but in a more techno style. Right from the start you’ll be grabbed by the bassline, but this one rewards extended listening as the track develops progressively with new melodies and metallic touches taking you deeper and deeper. There’s a moment of sweetness to end our journey with “There’s always tomorrow”, a chiming melodic ramble through tinfoil meadows that will fit beautifully into a warmup set.
