Legowelt – Anaconda Flow [TCLR010]

Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt has spanned everything from frosty techno, sprawling boogie and melodic acid house to chugging electro without sacrificing bonafide quality or pandering to the fad du jour. In his newest effort, a debut EP for Fotomachine’s Technicolour imprint entitled Anaconda Flow, listeners are treated to that dynamism in its very finest form. Uplifting, dreamy synth sequences are incorporated alongside his instantly recognizable gritty floor-fillers for a four-piece package that will both delight the home listener and devastate the dance. His long-demonstrated devotion to hardware is utilized here to extraordinary effect: blips bubble to a murky surface, twinkles cascade from above and a kick drum pulses straight through everything it touches—all in all a darkly immersive little jewel.

Xosar – World Of Illusion [PNKMN010]

The Dutch Pinkman label is back with a new EP from Xosar, who debuts on the label and covers release number 10, with two new cuts of mystic techno. World Of Illusion goes first and marries reverb rich claps and cacophonous hi hats with a tough bassline. Spritelyand nimble and with thumping kicks down below, various bleeps, serene string sounds and glassy melodies colourthe groove and make for engaging listening. On the flip, Phasers of Eden is a kinetic fusion of ticking percussion, molten synths and withering chords that works you into an ethereal and otherworldly trance. Still with some allimportant drum funk powering things along down below, this is another idiosyncratic winner from Xosar.

Innerspace Halflife – Antimatter [MDREAMS015]

”The Antimatter EP appears in the form of four tunes that go into acid, techno, and house through syncopated drum rhythms and playful synth work. This EP continues on the space theme, as the cosmos guides the tunes from concept into some deep floor bangers that vary in tempo and feel, like antimatter which is one of the hardest things to produce.”

We at Finale Sessions are glad to have Grey People aka Alex Michalski raining from Chicago he is one of the new up and coming producers from the windy city that has flavor that Finale Sessions really likes and we present you with his first track called “Feeling Strange” with its weird but funky bassline and its dark synths gives it a peak time feel with its spooky chords that sets this track apart from the rest, Then we have the track called ” Defeated”which really has this Depeche Mode feel with its wicked bassline and its solid claps but we also dig the pads and synths also. Then last but not least is the track ” Forget The Peak” is my favorite track of the ep its solid chords and pads give this track a melodic feel and very dancefloor friendly vibe.

IVVVO – Mark Leckey Made Me Hardcore EP [CR1283]

IVVVO - Mark Leckey Made Me Hardcore

Lisboa based producer IVVVO returns to Creme Organization with a new three track solo EP. Showcasing his unique take on analogue house, here he conjures up his most unique work to date, Up first, ‘Raised’ is a dishevelled concoction that sees organic hand drums rattling over heady kicks, with groaning vocals, ghostly pads and afro mutterings all adding to the intoxicating brew. ‘Our Journey’ is then an acid flecked, lo fi techno rave up with car alarms, barking dogs and white noise textures that all come over like an urban soundtrack as much as anything else. It’s captivating stuff that gets rounded out with ‘0000’, a slurred, smeared bit of ambient with awkward key progressions, wordless vocals and tons of crunchy texture. Few people sound as idiosyncratic as IVVVO and this EP proves that in spades.

Perseus Traxx – Goddesses Of Inspiration II [FLR012]

18 months after Perseus Traxx brought us his first E.P, dedicated to four of the nine Muses of ancient Greece, Flight Recorder now brings you the second installment dedicated to four more Muses, on “Goddesses Of Inspiration II”. The feel is the same as before with jagged cutting tones jammed live then edited down. Heavy synths and scattered drums perform an ode characterising the appropriate Muses, as tangled wires and a pair of hands wrench the overload of inspiration they give from basic machines. Once again Perseus’ release on Flight Recorder is a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.

O. Xander – Less Is More [US007]

O Xander’s debut for the Berlin-based Nous imprint is opening with “Lovers Theme” wrapping ghostly chords and woozy, electronic bass around an ’80s electro-influenced deep house groove. The electro influence continues on the drum machine handclap-heavy “Jupiter Jam”, while “Integrity & Intensity” and “Dirac Sea” both sound like the handiwork of Legowelt. Opal Tapes type Karen Gwyer remixes the latter cut, delivering a brilliant fusion of stuttering drum machine rhythms, drifting chords and fizzing electronics.

Ghosts Of The Sky – Ghosts Of The Sky [PERP004]

With its fourth release, Perpetual Rhythms appears with three tunes from label owners Chicagodeep and Taelue as Ghosts of the Sky. When we look up into the stars we see them as they were millions and in some cases billions of years ago. This fact intern gives way to the name of the collaboration, timeless sounds that fill your soul as they travel through the reaches of your mind via your eardrums. The self titled release features three deep tunes that extend the genre of deep house with groovy rhythms, plush chords, and a quintessential Chicago touch.

Jacob Korn – EP2 [UV029]

After EP1 in summer 2014, Jacob Korn continues the series with the aptly titled “EP2”, a collection of tracks that underline Jacob’s talent to produce Dance Music with appeal for both the main floors as well as Deep House connoisseurs. On “Bingoparty” Jacob combines elegiac synths with powerful drumming. The reduced instrumentation and subtle progression will surely set dancers in a state of trance. “4 You” is not less moving with its catchy bass line, swirling synths and well matured vocals. On the flipside “Blue Hours” is a subtler but not less thrilling approach that indeed would be working perfectly as a tribute to the short timed period before sunrise. You can almost smell spring when listening to the track. Finally, “Patternwirtschaft (Drums)” aims at DJs who are looking for drum tools and like to have fun with a good ole’ Tom- and Clap-heavy tune.

Andrew Red Hand – For My Mother [MOSDEEP023]

ANDREW RED HAND - For My Mother

The Dutch label MOS starts another international affair for its MOS Deep offshoot: Romanian Andrew Red Hand. Andrew, who has been called the Romanian Underground Resistance, has a long history of DJing and making Detroit inspired techno and electro and across four tracks here, his analogue house with crisp drums and searing acid all burst out of the speakers and into your affections. ‘My Guarding Angel’ is manic and frantic at the same time as been emotionally sensitive thanks to the way cowbells and coarse claps are off set with rich, heart warming chords and teary eyed strings. ‘Never Be The Same’ is then a busy cut stuffed with arpeggiated bass, bright melodies, glassy chords and plenty of reflective surfaces. It’s a feast for your ears that really shines brightly. ‘Shattered Soul’ is another track awash with trilling glassy sounds, echoing melodies and oodles of atmospheric texture all married to hurried techno drums. Calm and serene yet forceful and energetic, that same duality is apparent in ‘Mourning My Mother’, a sombre cut with classic Chi town percussion and drums all weighted down by long tailed pads and poignant chords. This is music that works on head and heel in equal measure.

Lake Haze x IVVVO – #1 [CR1282]

LAKE HAZE/IVVVO - #1

Creme Organization turn to the mysterious IVVVO and Lisbon producer Lake Haze for a new single that comes backed with a remix from label regular Legowelt. The single ‘#1’ is a hard hitting but fuzzy, misty and hugely spacious house track with deep jacking drums, haunting synths spiralling all around and freaky voices buried deep within. Hugely atmospheric and lovably imperfect, it then gets remixed by Legowelt. His version of the track flips it on its head, strips back some of the white noise fuzz and reimagines it as a driving techno cut with impish chords, retro arps and high pressure stabs. It’s a peak time bomb and ensures that this release is a high impact one indeed.
