‘Red Line’ is a collection of four archival tracks by Periferico, a lesser-known alias of Italian producer Livio Fogli, noted for his activity in the 90s electronic music scene. Lovingly rescued from DAT and now released by Undersound, this is organically lo-fi acid trance to a T, blending charmingly undermixed elements with chimey progressions and tittilating builds.
This 3 hours and 45 minute selection showcases musical blueprints of all rare Chicago and New York like the days of old mostly from the radio shows with disc jocks playing music mixes.

DMX Krew announces his return to Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records with a new four-track EP, sharing the dreamy, Detroit-inspired title track, ‘Return to Jupiter’. Inspired by the futurist funk and vivid synthesiser epics of classic Detroit, ‘Return to Jupiter’ is dripping with richness and colour, driven by the sort of thick analogue basslines and distinctive melodies that have come to define Ed’s catalogue. The EP’s title track sets the tone for what’s to follow, introducing a language of sorts for the record – before ‘Altered Chords’ turns the funk up to 11, ‘U Ain’t Down’ aims its distorted kicks and wiggy, manipulated lead straight at peak time dancefloors, and ‘I Love Juan’ closes the EP on a star-gazing tip.
Upstairs Asylum Recordings is one of the many seminal Detroit labels run by local legend Norm Talley. It’s right in the middle of a busy run right now with no fewer superb run with three new EPs all dropping in quick succession. This one is a split EP with US duo Solid Gold Playaz taking care of the a-side. As always with this pair, their sounds are deep and dusty house with exquisite melodies tugging at the heart. On the flip, Gari Romalis steps up with the slick percussive skip of ‘Detroit After Dark’ then ‘Panties’ from Brian Neal brings jacked up analogue groves that lean into techno with a big fat bassline.
“The MidiVerb Chalice” is a new, entrancing mini-album poured out from the mind and soul of Danny Wolfers. Here he commands an arsenal of synthesizers and sound artifacts to guide us through the halls of a feverish supernatural rave, weaving together spellbinding sounds and hexing the hordes of EDM. Do you care to sip from the Chalice of MidiVerb? Awaiting you on the other side is a world of kaleidoscopic and hypnotizing techno with an esoteric soul. It only takes a small dose of Danny Wolfer’s concoctions to induce a state of total entrancement.

Halvtrak returns to Cold Blow with techno-romantic rave escapism, riding Chi House-leaning rhythms and intergalactic Techno sculptures. If his previous “Images By Night” dealt with things nocturnal, Digital Dawn opens the curtains to a blue-eyed retrofuturism, bursting with colour and spark.
As one of the finest and most stylishly eclectic labels out there, you never know where Emotional Rescue will go next. This time out they head into a world of Afro-cosmic. Bôkaye’s 1990 gem ‘Ethno Groove’ stands out as a classic of the genre and joins the dots between the early house and techno sounds that were sweeping Italy with new age ideals, Afro drums and chunky tribal percussion next to Balearic synths. It features syncopated analogue beats and live percussion and as well as the original, this 12” features two of the further mixes that came in 1994.
It’s been nine years since Antoni Maiovvi released Trauma on Bordello A Parigi and now, he returns with “Birds of Paradise”, his latest musical incarnation. Last seen on Discogs in 2017, the mysterious Marvyn Don returns with a full release of his old Lilac Road & Swag related EP from the early 2000’s, with four UK techno and tech house inspired rollers that are fit for any dark club or afters. This EP has been brought back to life with some exciting additions to the series coming later this year.
Originally hailing from Japan but currently living Berlin, SJ Tequilla is known far and wide for his Teknobuskers project, a hardware DIY dance party hosted with friends and held regularly in ‘Max-Koch-Passage’, Berlin. The energy from these dance parties can be felt and lived through his latest ep, ‘GG Allien’. SJT’s skillful use of mind melting background tape textures and moody pads provide the encapsulating canvas for otherworldly acid lines, driving hardware percussion and enlightening melodies. An EP primed to transcend the listener to a place of communal acidic dance appreciation.
