Assembler Code & Jensen Interceptor – Upper Function EP [LKR006]

The usual suspects Assembler Code and Jensen Interceptor join the LKR Records artist roster. Flexing three tracks of stripped back raw electro, sprinkles of acid and bleeps blend sit perfectly over hard hitting rhythms. Also featured is an unexpected remix from bass bleep Roza Terenzi, lightening the mood with her unique sound but retaining some of the toughness of the original track.

Tred – Planet Perth EP [DEE002]

Sydney label Doe Dee continues it’s exploration of Australia’s outer limits with Tred’s ‘Planet Perth’ EP delving into the realm of fast paced electro over 4 cuts. Tred’s 2 original tracks explore the mature sonic range of the young Perth born Berlin based producer with ‘(To)Night’ bringing deep driving melodic euphoria and ‘S2003’s shimmering pads building into a moody mysterious crescendo. Fellow Perth export Privacy provides the S2003 remix where a steppy half time intro leads the way into a surprise half mark arpeggio rinse-out and Sydney’s Jensen Interceptor rounds things out with a full throttle acid mindmelting version of (To)Night.

Jensen Interceptor & Assembler Code – Kinematics [CPU01000011]

Jensen Interceptor & Assembler Code deliver another four tracks of deep hitting electro on CPU. Dancefloor electro, gleefully sprinting between dark, angular and angry fare (punishing but brilliant opener “Abstract Model”), rush-inducing peak-time anthems (the glassy-eyed, fuzz bass-driven bliss of “Kinematics”), Drexciya style workouts (“Extraction”), and buzzing, late night contortions (“VR Escort”). In other words, it’s another killer collection of cuts that should be on every electro head’s shopping list.

Jensen Interceptor – Mother LP [LR009]

Following six years spent tickling the fancy of quality electro lovers the world over, Mikey Melas AKA Jensen Interceptor has finally got round to recording a debut album. This will come out on the Lone Romantic imprint and it’s a pretty hot collection of cuts, with the Sydney producer joining the dots between ranging, angular peak-time slammers (“Ultramax”, “Drip Freq”), bustling and bass-heavy workouts (“Haze”), bleeping space symphonies (the Sinewave-esque “Dimensional Thought”), Drexciya-style missives (“Ufology”, “Shadow Network”) and more crystalline, melodious affairs (“Mother”). Some of his scene pals swing by to lend a hand, too, with The Hacker and Assembler Code collaborations standing out.

Assembler Code – Mental Escape EP [INTLC002]

ASSEMBLER CODE - Mental Escape EP

Assembler Code is finally flying solo with this 4 track electro assault ‘Mental Escape’. Plugging into the title track ‘Mental Escape’, it’s a rugged machine driven work out through IDM & Industrial landscapes formulated to present his vision of futuristic electro whilst still providing all the nostalgic Rother & Drexcyian nods we all love. Now that the tone has been set, ‘Simulant’ follows suit. Entering the celestial sphere via some haunting sci-fi strings, we’re slapped in the face with slamming percussion followed by a relentless acidic modulated baseline that takes us from one planet to the next at light speed. The Journey wouldn’t be complete with out his old partner in crime Jensen Interceptor coming on board for a ride. ‘Type 2’ is a classic case of past meets present. Scrapyard industrial groove ready to split speakers at your next warehouse party married with a selection of classic Alpha sounds to keep all the purists in check. The thunder continues to the very end. If you’re a tape saturation fiend begging for your next 808 crack hit, prepare to have your back bent in half with euphoria as soon as ‘Hal’s Machine Tool’ is injected into your ears. In short, 4 minutes & 44 seconds of hard nasty robotic electro booty sweat.
