New York City based Further Reductions is the live project from husband and wife Shawn (aka Vapauteen, 400ppm, Let Er Est) and Katie O’Sullivan (aka Rose E Kross, ppG). Back in 2014 they released their gorgeous debut album on Cititrax records. The album was an adventurous trip, where they pushed forward a unique sound. After all those years there will be a follow up to this EP on Knekelhuis. Expect a fusion of different sounds, grimy and pretty at the same time.
Lauréne Exposito is back with a follow up to her well received debut album from last year on Knekelhuis. This new record turned out to be very personal. Life changes and love’s stranges are central themes in all its shapes, sizes and colors. Still, hope takes centerstage. All tracks have been recorded at Lauréne’s home in the French Alps, using analog gear. Take a Cocktail Mexico and immerse yourself into her liberating new trip.
Featuring a wide range of artists (Das Ding, Plus Instruments, De Fabriek for a start!) from the Amsterdam Fetisj scene and cities such as Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, and Zwolle. It gives a glimpse into the artistic DIY music movement that was growing extensively outside of mainstream circles. The beautifully printed record sleeve was designed by Steele Bonus. It includes liner notes (in English and Dutch) that paint a great picture of the context where these bands and artists lived and breathed. It is compiled by Mark van de Maat and mastered by Rude 66.

In the second part of the Unlocking Sounds collaboration between the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision’s RE:VIVE initiative, the Research Center for Material Culture and Amsterdam’s Tropenmuseum, Dutch producer Parrish Smith digs through the Tropenmuseum’s ethnographic music archive and reads between the lines of ethnomusicology to confront the Netherlands’ colonial past. Assisted by the writings of Surinamese slave resistance writer Anton de Kom, Smith delivers a gripping social commentary entitled GENESIS BLACK.

Nieuwegein’s most warped mind Parrish Smith, on remix duty. ”Smersh was the project of Mike Mangino and Chris Shepard. Together they recorded more than 30 albums throughout the 80’s and early 90’s. Their vision: rehearsal at monday night, record their improvisations, no live performances, only albums.
As Longitude is the illuminated brainchild of Eva Geist and Laura ODL. Together they explore sonic waves in an exiting world full of spatial drum machine rhythms and sequenced riffs. Some of those trips feel like earth bound rituals, while others seem to be nothing less than ceremonies of stratospheric magnitude.

In a world where everything is relative, this may well be the final nail in the truth’s coffin. From the past to the present and the present to the past, of stories forgotten and to be told. Murray, labelboss from the great Contort Yourself label, created a library full of edited (un)forgotten cassette material from the first part of the 80’s. This compilation features Die Form, Fan Tan, Nocturnal Emissions, AGem, Beats Per Minute and Parazite: tracks to take you back to the future on the modern day dancefloor.

Blood is thicker than water and eventually long time friends Bordello A Parigi and Knekelhuis pageant a solid piece of music together. Alessandro Parisi also known as Hesperius Draco from Portenone – Italy – and London based Timothy J Fairplay found themselves in the middle of an ice cold world, opening their wintery project with the “Romance” soundtrack. The warm synth lines will single handedly set Moscow’s frozen red square on fire. The Italian soundtrack synthesisers will touch the trans-siberian world and end with a slow burner named “What Is To Be Done”.
In the grayness by concrete of the Amsterdam suburbs we find Pascal Pinkert (Dollkraut) working on his darker wave salvation, going by the moniker of De Ambassade. DIY in sound and design, the arrangement of De Ambassade catalogue blend perfectly on Knekelhuis Records. This debut EP forming an alliance between the past and the present deliver one take recordings, drowned in reverb, using preferably older recording methods. The result are poppy wave tracks that shiver your spine and let you chant along to lyrics from the dutch lowlands.
Knekelhuis presents a cassette featuring a selection of six industrial/EBM tracks from Beau Wanzer, Parrish Smith, Maekkot, Sige Bythos and Volition Immanent. The tapes are housed in a black library case clear front black back.
Hermopolis Magna is the first born of Amsterdam based Knekelhuis. Under the moniker Pagan Sector, two mysterious grandmasters (Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt and Cliff Lothar)of electronic music collaborated, resulting in this depraved love child.
