VA – Palace Of Memory Where Nostalgia Is Fear [PSR007]

VARIOUS - Palace Of Memory Where Nostalgia Is Fear (featuring Container, Privacy, Beau Wanzer, DJ Richard, Kluentah etc.)

Always hot on the hard-as-steel plates and murky subterranean atmospheres, Public System turns in a haunted double package from the crypt. Spanning hi-octane indus bullets, half-baked mutant salvos and shadow-clad juicers from a host of reputed names and rabid underdogs, this new comp collates ruff’n’tuff joints from gritty techno don Container, genre-unbound explorer E-Saggila, Berlin’s electro arsonist Privacy, acid-spitting hydra DJ Loser x Penelopes Fiance, basement guerilla Yabboq Penuel alias Le Syndicat Electronique, neo-punk beat thrasher Crave, Yves Tumor collaborator and sine-wave crusher Anthem, expert circuit dissector Beau Wanzer, Liquid G as remixed by Mick Wills, Night Gaunt’s Lower Tar, occult machine funk preacher Maenad Veyl, DJ Chupacabras under new guise 110, soundwaves cross-pollinator DJ Richard, vibrant mood-scapist Gavilán Rayna Russom, as well as label boss Myn going ubiquitous with studio fellows Kluentah as Myntha, and NYC’s R Gamble under their Fade Accompli moniker. A much desirable feast of raw, unhinged, all-round spine-tingling jams for both inside and outside the club.

R Gamble – Sever The Ties [PSR006]

R GAMBLE - Sever The Ties

Starting the new decade strong, the French label Public System Recordings debut R Gamble with his much anticipated EP, ”Sever The Ties”. Hailing from Memphis, TN and now functioning out of Brooklyn, R Gamble has been a staple of the New York underground for nearly ten years. This record presents you 5 original tracks and a remix, all ridden with infectious mechanical rhythms laced in haze, abrasive synth lines accompanied by metallic vocals doused in reverb. For the remix, Gotham luminary Shawn O’Sullivan returns to his ”Vapauteen” project, providing an intoxicating and dizzying groove for those ”lost in the fog” moments.

VA – Archives Du Coeur Humain [PSR005]

The latest in the synth-heavy sludgedown from Public System Recordings, invites a new cast of characters into the dungeon dance. The common theme throughout this sampler of titans of industrial the world over, seems to be wide, slowed down melancholy. Some tracks take a floor-friendly jump, while others demand the attentive consumption of a more serene setting. These two discs are packed with dynamic, chugging, and forward thinking jams that make you mesh all things PSR is passionate for.

VA – All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace [PSR003]

Public System presents a monster collection of the grubbiest, punked out lo fi deviant electronics from the true underground. Some names are more familiar, such as the excellent Templeyard Studios with the uneasy clatter of ”Take66”, while Buttechno brings a blistering array of tones to the forefront for some truly adventurous acid abstractions. There’s a lot of lesser known delights to revel in though, from the boxy beatdown of IXVLF, the darkwave electro thrust of Kluentah and the intricate percussive science of Meze. This may be dirty dance music for wayward souls, but there are some seriously fresh ideas lurking on this ludicrously valuable package.

Kluentah – Muskelbein [PSR004]

In the latest release from Public System Recordings, Kluentah (one half of Fallbeil) delivers a chalky electro smash with elongated snares and eerie chords passing from one end of the brain to the other, and to the floor. There is smooth vocal play as well as allowing for incoherent out of context speech samples that stab through minimal jumpy drum work. As diabolical and heavy as the hits and bass is, this enters the swath of dance floor records with a distinct flavor that sets itself above others’ execution. Full of sludgy breaks, there is a constant reduction even as sounds and samples are introduced, they enter the roving mulch in a stylish slide.
