There are many ways to move forward as an artist. You can reinvent yourself, keep track of fashions, or try bold new things. Tom Trago has spent the best part of 10 years pushing his sound in impressive new directions. Yet on his new album, the well-regarded Amsterdam-based producer has done things slightly differently. This time round, his influences come from much closer to home, and he has admitted to being inspired by the dancefloor-focused style with which he made his name. The Light Fantastic is a dancefloor orientated club album with a range of influences like – deep house, vintage synthesizers, classic boogie, disco, Chicago jack, acid house, and even a dash of full-throttle rave revivalism.

More tracks selected by the Running Back head honcho, Gerd Janson, for our continuing Music For Autobahns series. This 12″ includes tracks previously only on the CD release plus some exclusives…varied and roadworthy electronics that can also be used in cycle lanes and footpaths.

More Peaking Lights related 12″ goodies arriving not on a label…. Producer Aaron Coyes is joined by friend and former bandmate Nate Archer. Both tracks clock in over 10 minutes each, making this a real double sided mind expander.

Remixes from Rick Wilhite’s Vibes compilation on Rush Hour, with Andres & Ricardo Miranda stepping up and delivering.

There is one more 12” release in the Vibes series! The fifth and last EP features 3 tracks by new recording artists from Detroit. First up is Mark King who gives us an emotive, deep vocal work-out that lasts close to nine minutes On the b-side there is Detroiter DJ Raybone, who teams up with TJ as well as Rick Wilhite for two more deep Detroit late night house tracks.

BNJMN pops up with another splendid and relevant EP, featuring a remix from Legowelt/Xosar combo, Xamiga.

Tom Trago’s Voyage Direct series brings us another Amsterdam based talent. This time its the debut release of Interstellar Funk, who delivers the haunting and sleazy “House Train” which is backed up with a Makam remix. With its raw drums and deep bassline “House Train” sounds like an 80’s Chicago production, however the vocals give the track an unique timeless character and make you want to listen to the track over and over again. Oddly addictive. On the flip, Makam adds an extra drive to the track with its forward drums and synth lines.

Tom Trago’s new 12″, the album sampler to the upcoming album The Light Fantastic. Featuring the dancefloor stomper “Two Together” which was co-produced by Steffi, “True Friends” featuring Breach on the vocals and the non-album track “Avenido”.

Two hot new tracks from Steven De Peven aka Awanto 3 with a beauty of an Aardvarck remix. ‘Holy Mozes’ builds on a positively funky 80’s beat that reminds somewhat of Prince’s danciest grooves. The long, loopy synth stabs that Awanto 3 adds give away his history with Rednose Distrikt, as this sound was one of their trademarks. It also gives the track its dusty funk as it rolls into the quirky cross-over swinger it becomes.

The official reissue of ERB, a collaboration between Braxton Holmes and Ron Trent on Clubhouse Records from Chicago. ’92 style deepness – when things really started to get musical again. Soulful and jazzy vocal, and one for the house heads.

After his debut 12inch on Actress’s Werkdisc label comes Moiré’s new 3-track 12″ on Rush Hour. Moire is a mysterious producer hiding behind hypnotic visuals and a well-groomed cloak of anonymity. Now he’s ready to show his hand further with this second release, a three-track EP of what he proudly calls “London techno”.
Xosar returns with her third EP for Rush Hour, a sparkling two-tracker cloaked in her usual thick-set rhythms, heady vocal hooks and far-sighted synthesizers. In typical fashion, both “Rays of Babylon” and “The Calling” are blessed with a sense of playfulness and the emotion-rich, rush-inducing electronics that are fast becoming her calling card.

Full reissue of the classic track ‘On & On’ by Jesse Saunders, considered by many as the first house track. Backed with the original rhythm tracks.
