Vault Series is a cheeky little series where Rush Hour drops never before released tracks and mixes from its vaults as well as tracks which are in dire need of a re-release. The series kicks off with an unreleased track by the mysterious Duster Valentine. An anthemic disco track that, with its catchy piano loop, pays homage to the golden days of New York house music. On the other side we find Aardvarck’s fun-loving-freestyle-disco-mash-up-party-jam, That Pig, remastered and extended.
KiNK & Neville Watson – A Saturday In November [HHYR017]
KiNK & Neville Watson return with ‘A Saturday In September’, their first vocal track, featuring vocals if Kim Ann Foxman (of Hercules And Love Affair). Future-retro Chicago house, with late 80’s New York influences.
Lando Kal – Maneuver [RH-DC011]
Rush Hour Direct Current series continue with Lando Kal. Freaked out juggernauts of electronic music, primarily experimenting with various mutations of house. Hour House is Your Rush is releasing an EP from Chicagoian Ricardo Miranda. ‘Floorwax’ urges us to do the damn thing, assuming that he leaves us no choice but to slam dance to this hypnotic acid work out. ‘Redline’ starts out with just drums and a pulsating acid line, but halfway through a utopian string line eases in and shows us the way to the promised land.

Virgo Four – Resurrection [RH113CD]
“Resurrection” is the follow up to the reissue of Virgo (Four)’s S/T album, which was released by Rush Hour in 2010. This album is a collection of unreleased tracks that were produced over a 6 year period between 1984 and 1990 in various home studios around Chicago. These tracks were selected from 100’s of 4-track tapes that had been untouched and unreleased all these years due to local record business politics and disinterest. These demo recordings have been restored and mastered for release. The CD release holds 15 tracks, while the limited edition vinyl box set contains another 15 tracks, totaling a cool 30 tracks.
“Resurrection” really shows the rich, diverse and unique quality of Virgo Four, which leaves you wondering what impact they would have made on the (Chicago) house scene if they would have gotten released back in the day.
