Lunar Disko is back once again, featuring another firm Lunar favourite…John Heckle. eckle debuts on Lunar Disko with 5 raw cuts from a distant dimension. Encompassing much of the Merseysiders signature sound, ‘Blues for a Red Giant’ shimmers throughout with distorted percussion, otherworldly melodies, and driving basslines to create another masterful EP from an artist who continues to push the boundaries of house and techno.
Haunted Doorbell – Unconnected Thoughts On Jacking [COTF007]

Haunted Doorbell are Timothy J. Fairplay and Matilda Tristram. ‘Unconnected thoughts on jacking’ is four tracks of naive melodies, rough slamjack drums, and new age atmospheres. ‘Starclash’ kicks off side A, with its dramatic arpeggios and SID chip crashes, Techno to soundtrack the Saturday night laser show at the planetarium. Following is ‘A night of adventure’ with its eastern scales and washy broken chorus unit hiss. On side B we have ‘Beautiful Sheffield’ – an ode to electronic music’s (possibly) most important British city and the title track rounds of the EP – house music for listening to while looking out to sea.

New release on Sean Dixon’s own label Final Chapter. The journey of Detroit and Chicago influenced house and techno continues on this release as label head Sean Dixon presents an EP split between himself and Boston’s John Barera. Remix duties come courtesy of Berlin based producer, Palms Trax.
Carlos Peron – Dirty Songs [DE092]

4-track EP by Swiss musician Carlos Peron, founding member of Yello. ‘Dirty Songs’ is a collection of songs from Carlos Peron recorded between 1980 and 1986. The recordings were made with the core set up of an ARP 2600, Rolands Drumatix, TB-303 and TR-808.

Norse – Sagas Of Subterranean Life [SN1210]

Recorded in a Bunker somewhere in the ancient basque region, Sagas of Subterranean life is a collection of 5 sagas that are heavily influenced by Scandinavian life and European culture in general. Showcasing a versatile collection of 5 bits that range from moving distorted house jams to synth blops and violating techno, ”Norse” is not just a collaboration between soul notes head honcho ”Kastil” and Rotterdam based ”Gitchell Moore”, it’s also a project that tends to avoid genre-restrictions and box thinking.
Super Unknown – Super Unknown TH01 [TH001]

Tar Hallow is a new label based in Rotterdam devoted in electronic music. First release on the label is from Super Unknown, producer Dimitris Damaskos (Damcase) from Thessaloniki and currently based in Rotterdam. The EP comes with four tracks of distorted techno in a no control journey where there is no need for so many mid and high frequencies.

Some serious hot techno tracks again by SP-X. Part 3 of the Moving Through Mirrors series closes off this triple release by SP-X. Fleeting Image and Lingering Resentment leave no doubt about this producer’s main objective: fresh, contemporary techno aimed at the waistline
Discrete Circuit – Machine Code EP [INERTIA005]

The Inertia sub-arm of Dutch label Delsin is back. Inertia-5 introduces Discrete Circuit with a fierce three track EP. Connecting Berlin with Detroit, their EP kicks off with ‘Machine Code’, a frazzled techno cut with bleeps and alarms, sirens and rusty synths that all make for intense listening. On the flip ‘Recursive Descent’ is even more unhinged, with a see-sawing, saw-tooth synth line ripping up frantic hits and loopy drums and getting right into your brain as it does so. ‘Compiler’ is a more subtle, stripped back and seductive techno roller with supple synths undulating above rooted, rubbery kicks and woodpecker like percussion.

Known for his work on the Antinote label as DK, 45 ACP is the alias of Parisian producer Dangkhoa Chau. Having seen prior releases on Italian label, Dog in the Night Records and French label Odd Frequencies, 45 ACP has caught the attention of L.I.E.S. Records where we see him issuing his debut six track LP. Not straying too far from his prior works, we get a wide yet cohesive grouping of tracks throughout the record. Sounds ranging from the slo-mo cosmic chug of 7th Circle, to the percussive boogie leaning Ground to Ground or the Sakamoto-esque lush b-side opener Hidden Garden, 45 ACP delivers start to finish proving equally effective on the dancefloor or in your headphones.
