‘Fever’ is a concept album from 2562 aka Dave Huismans released on his fresh and new label When in Douby. The third long player coming from Dave is his disco album: a thorough reinterpretation of underground disco music from the mid seventies to the early eighties. All based on one simple rule: every single sound, from the smallest background shiver to the most obese sub bass, originates from a disco record – no additional synthesizers, drumcomputers or other samplesources involved – but this is genuinely new and retro-free music that respectfully flips its sources in a way nobody can recognize them.

Affectionate house grooves ranging from deep to high energy upbeat on this double 12″ from the Romanian Cosmic TRG. As he moves away from his dubstep/funky roots, he heads more towards 4-floor techno and house. Yet, he keeps his crisp drum programming and sharp synth lines, which makes his productions sound fresh and gives them a future feel.

A.P. aka Andreas Peterson released on his own label, Ghost Sounds, a very experimental album, based in (dark) ambience with rhythmic patterns oriented among idm, electro and triphop. Inspired by asian horror movies and by David Lynch’s films ”Lost highway” and ”Mulholland Drive”.

Rolando and 2562 provides the remixes for Skudge part 3. Rolando takes ‘Ontic’ into a deeper level with a cool vocal, the perfect groove and his nice sizzling shaker. 2562’s version of ‘Convolution’ is a true dubstep makeover.

An Ep from Area on a new label called Kimochi, featuring three tracks of abstract ambient techno.

Ethereal avant-techno/breakbeats from an unknown US operator, backed with a sumptuous and extended Monolake version.

Ryo Murakami lunches a new label Panrecords. The first release is a 4 track EP, with very deep and slow beats, dub track from start to end. The EP contains a remix from Stereociti, which has also a deeply atmosphere.

The first in a three-part series of limited 10”s rewiring Swedish experimental dub/drone artist Mokira, aka Andreas Tilliander. ‘Time Track’ is the deepest of dub music and electronic gear has seldom sounded this organic. Rolling cords and bassline builds slowly towards the dub meltdown. On the b-side Silent Servant produces a rolling wall of sound. This is a high energy, metallic sounding dance piece ready to serve djs around the globe. To be played loud, not silent.

The Spanish duo Exium will release their first full length album under the Nheoma records flag. A mature work that explores the darkest corners of electronic music creation, seriously and scientifically.

With ‘Wordplay for Working Bees’ Lucy creates a blueprint, not just the departure point for the full length format according to Stroboscopic Artefacts, but he also lays down new possibilities for the techno album. Refusing the obvious 4/4 route, Lucy traverses the widest possibilities of electronic music. ‘Wordplay for Working Bees’ encompasses IDM that leans towards drone, puckering, dub-filled techno and ambient in its most oblique forms. The beloved character of Lucy’s DJ sets, the way he layers tracks to find unique timbre and tone, is reflected in his studio approach. Lucy’s debut album results in the most delicate and delicious juxtapositions, as the unexplained and unexpected tangle together in the ear.

New EP on Zooloft coming from Obtane & Giorgio Gigli. The EP is opening with an up-building, dramatic techno anthem. On the other side, Mike Parker delivers a pulsating and acidic techno driver where heart impulses are generated by a disturbed soul, creating spasms and panic feelings. The EP get closed by a strongly romantic drone track that tells us love is still the only way-out.

Darko Esser is back on Curle with the deep and dubby builder Clean Slate. On remix duties this time are two fast rising techno talents DVS1 and Lucy.

We are at number 10 with our series and we have a mix from DJ soFa, from Brussels. As he likes to say, he is a “dj and vinyl victim” since 1997, playing all around Brussels, Belgium and Europe. He is a very eclectic dj, playing a wide range of electronic music, from dubstep to house and techno, always doing experiments. Being a versatile dj he managed, during the years, to share the stage with artists from a very diverse spectrum of electronic music, artists like Aardvarck, Actress, Ceephax, Danny Breaks, Egyptian Lover, Mike Dehnert, MLZ, Neil Landstrumm, Shackleton, Spirit Catcher, Substance & Vainqueur, Tim Exile and many others.
DJ soFa is running Lamadameaveclechien, an independent label that aims to release good and eclectic music on physical formats (vinyl and CD). The label is releasing mostly experimental stuff from friends and artists that share the same musical vision.
DJ soFa will visit Bucharest and Sibiu at the beginning of April, so listen carefully this podcast to get a glance of what you will experience during these two parties.

Portable strikes back on Karat 8 years after his first appearance on the label. “Inside your mind” is a build up track with a proper vocal describing different levels of consciousness, and about the way of living your inner thoughts. “The Ghetto Escapes” is a floor burner, acid stomper track that never stops to push up the pressure.

Strong selection on This Houseville of Skylax ep feature 4 cuts by respectively Jacob Korn, Mano le Tough, Marcos Cabral, Jaime Read aka L.H.A.S. ranging from old school Chicago to more modern German house.
