ADJ – Selected Transmissions From The Pyramid [KNOE10/1]

Andy Jaggers (aka ADJ) is a name that has been synonymous with the underground electro scene since the mid-nineties. Andy released his early works as 3 Elements on his own label Analogique, delivering 4 now very hard to find records in between ’95 and ’96. Later he would set up Pyramid Transmissions with Pathic to release their own productions and those of likeminded individuals pushing the envelope of the electro sound outside the normally accepted boundaries. For Those That Knoe has worked extensively with Andy to put together a deliciously cohesive eight-track compilation of his works spanning the more recent period of his production career. The LP includes Pyramid Transmission vinyl favorites, cuts only previously available on his digital albums and some pieces released for the very first time.

VA – Exit Planet Earth: Oxygen [EPE02]

The second release in the Exit Planet Earth compilation vinyl series features four exclusive tracks designed for space travel, including the first ever collaboration between Keith Tucker of Aux 88 and Carl Finlow. The resulting track ‘Coder’ is an electro masterpiece. The more established electro pairing of Jensen Interceptor and Assembler Code hit heavy with ‘Red Cell’ while Voigtmann brings the bass to space with ‘Subtopia’. The record is rounded off beautifully by Cignol with Detroit infused string sections and harmonies on his ’51D’ track.

Experiment Zero – The Non Assay Sound Of The Underground [BL004]

Reemerging from the threshold of the cosmic vortex, Black Lodge returns with another sonic artifact that is charged with vigorous chaotic energy, known as EXPERIMENT_ZERO. Accounts of the radiant object’s origin are as mysterious as the raw energy that utters from its core. Following a close study, the guardians of the portal suspect that “Experiment Zero” was a primordial experiment rooted in the slam jack pits and DIY warehouse rituals of ages passed. A sonic dialog constructed of various languages, spanning from roots-house jak to bare-knuckled electro are revealed across the artifact – a revolutionary tale that surpasses the constructs of ephemerality, with a refusal to be ignored. Across the release the listener is confronted with fearless acid lines that are underscored by a tone of revolution, and sets the stage for a human voice that switches between modes of a sharp and mutated presence. The power of such sonic objects are both celebrated and rejected by various tribal societies. It is all dependent on the belief structures and traditional histories of its members. It is for the dedicated, not the light-hearted. After further research it has been discovered that, Experiment Zero is the product of Dona, aka Dj Plant Texture and Mike Tansella Jr. of Son of Traders, both products of the ancient mercantile city of Bari in Southern Italy. All sonic experimentation was recorded in one take to capture the raw energy of instantaneous collaborative sound craft operating in flux.

Mark du Mosch – Magneto [PNKMN37]

Mark du Mosch returns to Pinkman, after his debut EP The Red Hour back in 2016. Magneto takes you on a rollercoaster ride from an industrial factory workout to a soulful frenzy and back. Filled with heavy, borderline tribal rhythms intertwined with glitchy loops and spacey melodies, it’s a vortex into a dreamlike state where the routine is the villain and the practice of discipline unfolds into the liberation of creativity. And all given groove Mark du Mosch’s style.

Jensen Interceptor – Strings Of Fear [PNKMN36]

Strings of Fear is a glance into a damaged, yet ubiquitous beauty fetishism, when succumbing to the collective consciousness means walking a thin line between vanity, sanity and self-loathing. The four-tracker ties into a journey through fear, confusion, anger, desire and loathing, all fitted into one shot of adrenaline in a form of an EP.

Chupacabras – S/T [LIES153]

London via NYC Chupacabras has been making a name for himself through the years as a pillar of the underground. The story starts in Barcelona during the early-2000s DJing and becoming a resident at the famed Nitza Club, it’s here Chupacabras came into contact with the likes of I-F,  Legowelt, and Marco Passarani among others thus immersing himself in the sounds of Hague electro, Chicago House, Italo, and Detroit Techno. An integral part of the early L.I.E.S. Records crew we are pleased to release his latest ep, a four track Hague influenced affair. Slammin drums, raw acid lines and razor sharp synths and electro beats prevail through the ep, a must for the floor.

The Advent – Life Cycles [CE035LP]

The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) delivers his first full-length Electro album in 17 years. Released on Sync 24’s burgeoning Cultivated Electronics label, ‘Life Cycles’ finds the past meeting the future. Because, to get a truer feel for this new long-player, we should head back even further to a 1995 classic – The Advent’s debut album, ‘Elements Of Life’. In fact, fans will recognise a nod to the original artwork of that seminal release, as ‘Life Cycles’ takes us full circle, containing unreleased Electro gems from the ’90s, available for the first time. “I have been making electro music for nearly 3 decades now and excited to see that it is in demand with this new wave of talented producers out there. ‘Life Cycles’ is an album where I explore my older past and connect with the future, 2020 and this new electro generation,” says Cisco.

JT Whitfield – Untitled [LIES148]

Straight from the depths of the burgeoning Austin, Texas weirdo scene, JT Whitfield delivers a six track mini-LP for L.I.E.S. after an impressive run of releases for Chondritic Sound. Whitfield follows suit where he left off on his cut from last years Eminent Domain comp. with absolutely punishing slow beatdriven industrial electronics. This is for true fans of metal on metal music as these tracks desperately plod and grind, ripping apart everything in sight. The appropriate soundtrack to endtimes.

VA – Purple [UV050-3]

This is the second to last UV050 compilation records. Purple kicks off with Krakow’s Chino, who shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic “Forbidden Voices” sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Berliner Johannes Albert brings his debut releases on Uncanny Valley with his “Vision Utopia”, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with “Roaming The Streets”. A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg’s finest, blesses us with “Moon Operator”, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries.

VA – Suburban 2 – Benefit for Milan [FU.ME012]

“Suburban Tales 1 was born as a VA dedicated to push local talents: it was our intimate dedication to Milan, the city which raised us, made us know each other, forged our sound. Before this worldwide emergency we were already planning the sequel, but this peculiar situation drove us to extend it both to Italian and international friends and affiliates. A powerful project was born to finance the “Fondo San Giuseppe”, a fund instituted by Comune di Milano, to support the people who lost their job during this struggle which sees Milan as one of the cities that had been hit most by the virus. We will devolve the entire revenue to this association.”
