Steve Bicknell has been at the forefront of the ever-growing electronic music since it’s infancy. His career spanning over 25 years, has seen Steve grow as a Dj and producer to one of the UK’s most established, accomplished and respected techno artists and credited by many as a true pioneer. After stepping away from producing and traveling as a Dj, in 2005, Steve resurfaced in 2013, producing three e.p’s for his Cosmic records imprint, exclusive tracks for Ostgut Ton, leading to the birth of 6dimensions and the collaborative project LSD with Function and Luke Slater., Now he returns to 6dimensions for his fifth release on the label, presenting a four track EP ”Story Character”, filled with crafted sound design, mind-shifting, dance-floor techno.

4-Storie varied EP with classic Redshape tropes. From slow motion techno poems to clever DJ tools.

Elektronische Sequenz Proleten is the new project of Nicola Kazimir and Walid El Barbir -both are integral members of the Les Points collective based in Zürich. “The Heart Of A Man, The Desire Of A Monster EP” is their debut release under this moniker and balances somewhere between genre bending Acid-Techno and EBM. E.S.P. has no particular genre specialization in mind – but wants to explore a diverse, wide and mature range of sonic compositions in the next couple of years.

For its second installment Subject To Restrictions Discs presents a split EP by two of Switzerland’s most underrated producers. First there is CCO. A modular wizard known from his involvement in groups such as Wavetest and Savage Grounds. He presents two Techno cuts that are bound in organic sounds and filled with driving energy. The three mellow cosmic wave tracks on the back are coming from Narco Marco. He’s active in Bern’s music and nightlife scene for almost 30 years. His music knowledge is legendary and shows itselfs in his productions which are filled with sparkling details.

Roman producer, DJ and label head Marco Passarani’s rich catalogue of releases fuse techno, boogie, electronica and funk into evocative soundscapes. Here, on “6489 Golevka,” a murmuring bass rises under sparkling synth stabs, while on “Mesosiderite,” an acid bassline provides a gentle undercurrent to a deluge of iridescent synth washes. On “Exit Velocity,” an energetic beat propels nostalgic crescendos of melody; while “Roche Limit” is an agitated jack track that tumbles together sampled vocals and a dystopic circus melody.

Velvet May returns on “ Tears On Waves” with the 4-tracker EP “Unknown Bodies”. This time he is joined by the live duo Years of Denial and the northern-irish artist Autumns who delivered their own interpretation and vision of the tracks in the B side.

Gennadiy Manzhos brings his Low Tape project to Private Persons for the very first time. “The Next Summer of Love EP” is an expansive and universally impressive affair, with the Russian producer brilliantly charging between sun-kissed deep electro, raw and heavy jack-tracks, skittish but spacey electrofunk, bittersweet brilliance and bass-heavy ghetto-house/ambient techno fusion.

Doug Lee returns to the label under his AN-I moniker, this time collaborating with prolific Greek producer Unhuman on a new four track EP. This is what happens when you take all the right elements of techno, punk and industrial music and smash them together; a fucked up and devastating hybrid of blistering modern electronics. Heavy, but not stark by any means, Lee channels his inner Liasions with his vocal performace through the record. Most notably this is heard on the cut Entschuldigung, snotty laughs and scattered barks accent the stuttered drums and ms-20 feedback; Lee bringing it all together in a sarcastic funked up fashion. Five to Nine sees both producers complimenting each other expertly, clocking in with the most “dancefloor” cut on the ep…a twisted five minutes of screaming psychedelic dance that reaches an epic anti-climax of sorts. A true hit for those who know how to use it right, not to be missed.

Years of Denial joins Pinkman Broken Dreams and deliver an EP with four devilish and cataclysmic electronic body tracks. The duo’s sound combines influences of deranged experimental music with vocals surrounding themes of isolationism and dark romanticism. The outcome is stunning in its very own way, as the music creates a deeply immersive atmosphere, and is abundantly vigorous to keep dancers on their toes and moving from the night’s darkest corners to the dawn of day.

Powerful EBM tinged Techno cuts by Betek who’s becoming one of the labels mainstay’s. Junior Flutuante is opening up the vaults of Bernardo’s harder and rougher work. After his succesor in 2018 with ‘Discipline’ ep we gladly welcome Bernardo back.
