Serge & Tyrell – House Countdown [CJFD015]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS470722-01A-MED.jpg

Clone’s label founder Serge with his buddy Alden Tyrell on the case with some hot jacking tracks. Like the rest of the Clone Jack For Daze series, House Countdown adheres slavishly to the ideals of Chicago. And while this may not be the most limitless arena for Clone founder Serge Verschuur’s return—apart from remixes, he’s been out of the production game for 15 years—the duo’s three jack tracks prove sound examples of refinement.

Tom Trago – Rise Up / Sky High [RH045]

Tom Trago’s  presents his follow up single on Rush Hour, ‘Rise Up’ / ‘Sky High’. Tom Trago and Cinnaman got together in the studio and out came ‘Rise Up’. They somehow managed to mix freestyle, minimal, low-fi and bass together to create a cross-over house explosion. Based around a quirky bass line and vocal, the track keeps building until a catchy synth stab drops in which elevates the track to the next level. ‘Sky High’ is a late night basement session with San Proper and friends joining in on vocals. A bittersweet love song in which San yearns for a simultaneous high, which is backed up by a deep, silky house groove.

A brilliant portfolio of ocean deep productions from Soiree Records. Leading off, Detroit’s own Drivetrain rocks the floor from the first dropped beat. But the real surprise is the evolving melodies submerged in infectious groove. Rubba J, hailing from Brussels, debuts on Soiree with his track “Reflections” – a meticulous syncopation dancing through relentless rhythm. Absent for over a decade, Country Gents from London, UK, return to Soiree with “Need Me,” a Club-tested track with powerful vocals. Paris based Professor Inc brings another earth quaking, body-shaker entitled “Luvin” fusing clever chord progressions and tweaked-out vocals. Aaron “FIT” Siegel – Tonite (O.G. and D.D. Mixes) [FIT007]

https://i0.wp.com/imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS471278-01A-MED.jpg

Two previously unreleased mixes of “Tonite” by Aaron “FIT” Siegel, with vocals by L’Renee. The O.G. mix is a version Fit started working on to be a dub version of “Tonite- Original Mix”, but morphed into something a bit more epic, and due to time constraints could not make it on the initial release. The D.D. version, is based on the original demo track Fit wrote before any vocals were recorded, then edited and dubbed out by Omar-S. If you liked the original release on FXHE, be sure to have this one as well and if you don’t have the original release then you better get that one too.

Matthew Styles – Aji-No-Moto [RB037]

Matthew Styles serves three prime cuts with gravy sauce: “Montana” is a floating piece of break-beat science fiction house that gets backed up by ferocious bonus beats; “Hot!” is exactly that with a twist on a historical bass line, infectious vocal snippets, while “Sixty Ways” makes use of Dinky’s vocal skills.

John Heckle – The Last Magic Maker EP [CREME12-57]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS475334-01A-MED.jpg

John Heckle on Creme Organization. John eviates ever so slightly from his trademark sound to paddle his little raft down the Mersey and run wild with the wolves. The result is epic and mystic (and 100% Organic) and opens a doorway into a mythical world of Wicker Men, Hill Figures, Druids, Witch Covens and early 90’s sunrises off the m25, when ever-E-thing seemed possible.

https://objectstore.true.nl/rushhourrecords:files/styles/cover_large/storage-api-public/covers/67/67099.jpg?itok=0YSFWNr2

Dope new 12″  from Funkinevil produced with Kyle Hall. The two tracks on it make for a stylistic about-turn from the TV theme funk of the last Apron release Chips & Sweets, “Dracula” is the kind of stuttering 303 acid jam FunkinEven is an expert of, reminiscent of the brilliant “Roland’s Jam”, while “Cha!” is a loose-limbed slice of proto-techno which goes heavy on the unfiltered analogue bass, driven forward with lolloping drum machine beats.
