Sons Of Traders – Crollo Nervoso LP [BLF1C007]

“Crollo Nervoso” (Nervous Breakdown) is a collection of tracks recorded in Berlin Schönlein Strasse between 2018 and 2020 by Italian super-duo (and cousins) TANS & Mike Tansella Jr. as Sons Of Traders. This is their 2nd full album, with over 80 minutes of sonic mayhem from SOT mostly inspired by Genesis P. Orridge, 242, A.S.F., Esplendor Geometrico etc. in the Italian 80’s wave tradition. Additionally there are over 24 minutes of remixes by the likes of Chris Mitchell, Chupacabras, Elena Sizova, Jaundice, and Memory Clap Acid.

W1B0/RXMODE/SLAVES OF SINUS/TFHATS - Transhumanism 4

Teslasonic – Singularity [NN018]

TESLASONIC - Singularity

With strong ties to the MinimalRome label, former duo and now solo project of Gianluca Bertasi aka Teslasonic arrives on Nocta Numerica. Teslasonic here throws down a gauntlett of highly electrified club and acid tracks that touch on Electro as much as they do Techno and underground rave. With obscure melodies making it into tracks like “Obsex”, retroactive ’80s Synth themes make their way into “Nemesis” with more solid acid tracks coming from “The Game Is Out There” and “The Network”. Look to this EP’s title-track for something bright and shiny with “Arp Island” injecting a vision of hope and positivity into a genre that regularly plays on themes of decay and dystopia.

Coldreams – Crazy Night LP [CAM019]

COLDREAMS - Crazy Night

After the repress of their single “Eyes / Morning Rain”, Camisole Records announces the reissue of Coldreams tape “Crazy Night”. Recorded in 1984-1985 by a gang of young students passionate about Post-Punk this record represents the culmination of the band first period. Haunted lyrics and melancholia were already the basics of their sound and from “Don’t Cry” to “Crazy Night / Burning Passion” it’s difficult to imagine that they were only 18 to 19 years old at that time. “Bulbs and Bubbles” and “Turn the Button” show their pop appeal which definitely takes them apart from their contemporaries and all-around gloomy feelings infuse these six tracks which unveils another part of Coldreams history.

Terrence Dixon – From The Far Future Pt. 3 [TRESOR321LP]

DIXON, Terrence - From The Far Future Part 3

A master in letting shapes find their form, Dixon allows the listener to wallow in recurring scenes. Lost Communication Procedure, Found In Space and Remarkable Wanderer etch a sound world of choral vibrations and cinematic dirge. Where gaseous clouds scrape the natural sonic pastures of such environments, the hypnotized listener staggers a drunken step, moving sideways by 0 or 1 or -1 into new scenes. Not least an expert in industrial abstraction, a human silhouette permeates Dixon’s sound. His ethereal storytelling portrays the heart-rending romance of Unconditional Love and unearths in I’m Away In Detroit monologuing moodscapes recalling our GPS voice assistants. Out of Darkness initial recalls Kraftwerk’s Geiger counter, as from pure signal data and feedback spells an unceasing locomotive wormhole. Hazy, dense grooves drive across bleak city scenes in We Can Rebuild Him, into the raw vibe of Framework and the rude stabs of Spectrum of Light. The varying presence of Dixon’s work is one of his textural signatures, at arm’s length, brushing right within, and far out. The bumping mood of Earth Station is one such moment, close enough to isolate the diving bass somewhere within, simultaneously from afar it becomes positively gravitational.

VA – Black Earth Strikes Back [HIL008]

LARIONOV/SHEEPRAY/ST THEODORE - Black Earth Strikes Back

Hilltown Disco welcomes St. Theodore, Larionov & Sheepray to the label in a Russian affair. ‘Black Earth Strikes Back’ is a twisted tale of two-halves – the story of unrest, a battle of the dark, cryptic underbelly looking to overthrow normality, fused together with the outer-core of electro. Larionov and Sheepray stand for the A-side and take the reins with 3 tracks of warm bleeps, gentle electro beats with elements of sci-fi funk and aspects of italo. St. Theodore supplies the mechanics for the B-side with three tracks filled with murky, rumbling analogue bass, with piercing acid-lines seeping through. Music that is geared for the dancefloors of the future.
