Jenya Lavrinov is a young rising musician from Russia and LVRIN is the alias for the gloom side of his productions. All six tracks for this EP were made during last year under the red lights of Jenya’s home studio. As before LVRIN adheres to the one take method of recording as the best technique of dealing with the sound and with the moment. Setup for this EP in particular consisted of Akai MPC 1000, Yamaha AN200, Analogue Solutions TBX-303, MFB-Synth II, Polivoks and a couple of effects pedals.

French producer and RAAR co-founder Maelstrom makes his debut on CPU with ‘Alph4’, a seven track electro-leaning mini LP of one-take recordings. Maelstrom’s sound on Alph4 is comparable to Aphex Twin’s more restrained Analord output. Focussed, highly detailed production alongside an abundance of evocative synth melodies will ensure these tracks become firm favourites with forward thinking DJs and electronic music fans.

Berlin’s Mechatronica returns with another compilation of forward-thinking electro and acid sounds from Innershades, Norwell, DJ Nephil and Gestalt. The A-side packs a dose of merciless electro/acid for the floor by Innershades, followed by a dazzling, atmospheric electro journey by Norwell. The flip boasts a more gritty sound, as Russian producer Gestalt debuts on Mechatronica with the twisted ‘Mndfck’, and DJ Nephil’s slow-rolling monster ‘White Dwarf’ finishes off the record.

Brokntoys welcomes Marcel Caron for his debut on the label. Haunted Memory sees Caron shift through the gears from string ridden melancholy to aggressive broken acidic workouts all with an overhanging state of suspense.

One-of-a-kind acid tunes made by two scientists. Boston 168 are back on Andre Kronerts Odd Even with a new masterpiece. Phenomena consists of two EPs. Each one contains 4 flowing and breathing tracks for the world of acidicted humans. Sergio and Vincenzo got their own handwriting if it comes to techno and acid, new gravity spaces and sound blackholes.

The 22nd “Issue” on Regis, Silant Servant and James Ruskin’s Jealous God label is predictably impressive. Undoubtedly the most notable inclusion is “The Bond”, a rare collaboration between Marcel Dettman and Silent Servant that looks to the sleazy, arpeggio-driven thrust of Electronic Body Music for inspiration. It’s the EP’s one genuine “peak-time” moment and strong enough to carry the whole 12″, though happily Pye Corner Audio’s flipside excursions are also impressive. Check, for example, the undulating, fluttering, post dub techno cut “Delay Gratification” and the swirling, hypnotic dancefloor melancholy of inspired closer “The Future”, where a lone acid line rises above a dense and poignant backing track.

Pater Noster presents their fifth release, Aposynthesis by Overloper, a side project of Ekman. The A-Side brims with tension both contemplative and active. ‘Hope You’re Close’ is a deep burner, with heavy, pounding bass and an entrancing hook ascending to space. This then escalates into the urgency of ‘Aposynthesis (Need More Sisa)’, in which a driving, rolling rhythm is juxtaposed with an old school, dutch-style rave synth. The B-Side encircles around acid. On one hand, it is coyly playful with ‘Carpe Noctem’ turning cavernous in Innsyter’s dark interpolation of the other.

On this new split EP, we welcome two knights of the European electro scene. On the A side, the Irish man DeFeKT, who already released several bombs on Earwiggle, Solar One Music or Newflesh. On the B side, the french killer Maelstrom, who shows us his darkest face here, after some strong releases on RAAR, Zone or Cititrax. One EP, two buddies, four heavy tracks for the bangers.

Solar One Music is happy to release the debut of this promising Rotterdam duo Animistic Beliefs on their sublabel “Between Places”. The EP comes with 5 heavy, tuneful and hypnotising electro tracks you definitely have to hear.

Manchester, 2016. 1/3 FRAK & NEBULA = THE SYSEX MEETING. Disco – House – experimental Hip House and parapsychic jazz.

The Squirrels from San Francisco are back and they’re wearing white after Labor Day — pressing up a limited white-label 12”, full of the throbbing electro, altered-states body music, and head-in-the-clouds techno you’ve come to expect from Squirrels on Film.

Analogue sounding techno tracks with a touch of acid and electro all blended together, on the 3rd release from Dark Circles on their own London based label DC Trax. Three tracks of new material aimed directly for the dancefloor at different stages during the night.

Longtime resident of the label Stefan Vincent offers up Dynamic Reflection’s 37th vinyl, a four tracker consisting of three distinct original mixes from Stefan’s own hands and a remix by the fellow Dutchmen Artefakt.
