Franco Cangelli works out three deeper, dubbier Techno trax backed with a Russ Gabriel remix for Mowar. ‘She Moves’ conducts a svelte motion with thick subbass and crisply contoured rhythms beside the minimal and moody Neo-Detroit atmospheres of ‘Melancholy’ on the A-side. Flipside Russ Gabriel drags ‘She Moves’ down a gear with a submerged overhaul of ‘She Moves’, and ‘Tunnelling’ digs rolling, offset bass gyrations and trippy chord modulations for the late night crew.
Three track EP of pretty banging bassy techno and wonky house following up the first releases on the label. The title track, “If Only The Past”, plays tricks on your inner rhythm with its loose percussion, Detroit driven pads and a deep vocal injection. The bassline and the kick drum work in conjunction with an immersive bass tone, enveloping you in low-frequency hypnosis. “Alone Always” is a sluggish yet fiercely moving house jam. A well placed medley of samples, startling pads and sharp chords punctuate a penetrating beat – best suited to an early-morning, sub-level sweatbox.
Jonsson/Alter Mod album remixes are here, featuring Minilogue, Donato Dozzy and Dorisburg. All remixes has some kind uplifting and sunny trance mode to them, so as it turns out, this is actually the prefect spring release. Minilogue starts out with the track Kyrka 2.0 and ads both speed and length. Donato takes on the track Acapellan and does everything right. Keeping the beautiful vocals of the original, Donato adds bass line and new drums. The EP closes with another Swedish contribution. Alexander Berg aka Dorisburg from duo Genius Of Time reworks Djup House, and does it well. A solid bass line keeps us grounded to the dance floor while dreamy melodies and harmonies gently lift our serotonin levels.

Mojuba core member Nick Solé is ready to unleash his unique deep house power on the album format. His debut LP entitled ‘Flowers For You’ will be ready within the next few months to hit the streets in early summer. This release can be seen as a preamble to his debut and shows Nick going some new ways in his sound universe, the first track was done as an experiment for a friend and created entirely with samples of paper as it used by architects and engineers, the second track a carefully constructed downtempo jam which shows us Nick’s love for special sound aesthetics.
Sirko Mueller is back on Mojuba sublabel wandering for some new adventures. He delivers four new tracks from his vault, showcasing his love for deep techno on the A-Side and heavy reggae – dub influenced jams on the B-Side.
The fifth release on Baud music is the 2029 EP by Dario Zenker. Distorted dub imitations rooted in a rhythmic foundation, supplemented with penetrating driving shakes, shape the character of the first track “The Chief”. A floating, thumping bass line and claps with elegant dreamy strings characterize the second track “Least one” on the A side. The flip side welcomes us with “Sherhood” with his straight solid beat and a dominant, catchy hook. “Alen” combines Dubtechno and Dupstep into free-floating wave elements and obscures the perception of the 4/4 time, which transfers the listener into a state of suspense.
Jakob Altmann from Munich is the new fresh artist on the Statik Entertainment – Roaster. These are six raw techno-cuts in a really dark atmosphere.
Imugem Orihasam succeeds like no other to balance apparent opposites by using cool and clear transparency in contrast to the mesmerizing and warm pulsating soundscapes to create depth of the highest quality.A1 “Gleam From Distant Gate” is one of those tracks which seem quite unremarkable first, but with the time it creates a massiv hypnotic attraction, a wormhole-like effect you cannot escape from. That space seems endless, just right big enough to loose yourself in it. B1 “Misty Evening” seems to be just the right soundtrack to build an underwater metropolisis. It starts building a 2 minute elevated tension before its firering on all cylinders. B2 “Kotoni” is clearest balance and harmony.

‘Anvers’, the French name for Belgian port Antwerp, starts in unassuming manner, synths swimming, bass pondering, a gentle cymbal tapping. It’s the sound of thoughtful admiration, as if Lapien is standing in front of the city’s towering gothic cathedral, motionless in the midst of a now modern metropolis. But then, as loops spring uncomfortably back and an insistent beat thunders into the fray, one realizes that this is no time for admiring architecture; this is a night drive through the city – coarse orange streetlamps, chrome blue reflections, droplet-stained window panes. Manchester’s Claro Intelecto is back to release his third full-length album, Reform Club, on Delsin Records. Throughout his career, the man known as Mark Stewart has always created lush deep house and techno soundscapes awash with dubby undercurrents. This new album deals in all the usual moods and textures you’d expect from Claro Intelecto… it’s warm and cuddly, comforting and inviting right from the first track, despite the rough edges and well defined analogue details which pervade throughout.
Philpot presents a solo release by Murat Tepeli. The style feels right at home on the label, not least on the tumbledown beats and rubbery sub bass of “Mastika”. There’s a definite Berlin weight behind the monstrous kick on “Clifetelli” which sounds primed for Panoramabar, but it’s not all fist-pumping brawn as “Good” proves. Displaced flurries of drums appear occasionally, but really this track is all about the haunting melodic refrain.
