Giegling records opens 2012 with a release on their Staub sub label delivering some amazing advanced techno tracks. Exciting tracks that roll somewhere between the classic berlin dusty and dubby techno sound and a deeper poetical industrial vibe.

Shawn O’Sullivan brings us the latest release on WT. Classic early IDM meets rawer 90’s analogue techno with a little bit of acid and industrial sprinkled in. Shawn takes synths, drummachines, a sequencer and some effects and records one take on a stereo track.

Dario Zenker – The Move Clean EP [VA041]
Dario Zenker is back on Vakant with the label’s first release for 2012. 5 tracks that almost make a mini album but with pretty much individual tunes, with a touch of the more dark and sinister side of Vakant. Starting with ‘Where Are You’, a haunting yet hoping track that once again takes Dario as close to Detroit as one can get while living in the capital of Bavaria. Next one is ‘Hype’, less elusive than the opener, with a heavy drum pattern that demands a strong sound system to flower out completely. ‘Steppin To’ carries a bass line as thick and heavy as it can be and might be the most moody track of this package. Two more, ‘Works’ and ‘Tassel’, but we leave it up to you to discover, as writing about music we think is very limited due to its nature.

Claro Intelecto – Second Blood EP [91DSR]
Claro Intelecto aka Mark Stewart makes his Delsin debut with a 3 track EP entitled Second Blood, which precedes the release of his full length album on the same label in march 2012. First up, the title track ‘Second Blood’ is a lazy, scuffed and romantic sounding deep dub cut that lurches from one beat to the next with a lazy smile and soft eyes. Plenty of echo and reverb have it drifting off into the distance as warm pads and rising strings add subtle tension. Another lazy roller but this time with brighter melodic flashes, next effort ‘Heart’ is just as lateral, dubwise and soothing as the title track, melting your mind into a dreamy state of hypnosis before b2 ‘Voyeurism’ lifts you out of your trance with a firmer kick drum, more cutting claps and groove that bounces a little more than it rolls. Some taught acid notes appear eventually, rounding off a cerebral, dead of night EP made as much for home listening as it is gentle Sunday afternoon comedowns.

The first of three Analogue Soultions 12″s to arrive from the studio of Eduardo De Le Calle. The untitled track that sprawls across the A-Side is quietly charged with the resonating echoes of ghostly, tracky beats and a hanging synth loop that positively drips with tension. Better still, “Track 2” exudes a downtempo, smoky vibe thanks to its sub aqueous rhythms and sporadic piano stabs, while “Track 3” worms deeper still into the electronic unknown.
Arthur Oskan – Wants & Needs EP [BMG009]
Convective Deep Techno currents from Arthur Oskan, backed with a Luke Hess remix. On the original ‘Wants & Needs’ Arthur seduces with melancholy, dark-eyed synth pads and a purring bassline, stealthily evolving into a real midnight groover. On the flip, Luke Hess reduces the elements to a shook-down Dub Tech-House roller with strong Detroit genes.
