Ma Spaventi – Viaggi [PN043]

Released by Pizzico for the first time in 2009 with the moniker “Erre”, Marco Antonio Spaventi was one of the most pleasant surprises about what an excellent techno producer can do with his beloved background: Italo disco. Influenced by soundtrack masters as Vangelis, John Carpenter and most of all Italian maestro’s like Nico Fidenco, Pino Donaggio, Francesco De Masi, and appearing in the sky like a laser beam in a post-atomic Bronx filmed by Enzo G. Castellari, the positive first album of MA Spaventi called “Viaggi” is landing. A real journey into obscure worlds, dirty streets, atomic sunsets, broken hearts and analog feelings, a blessing for your most romantic and cinematic essence. Could this folding full length fit the modern dance floors? Maybe It could be better for the outcast clubs of a near future: synths atmosphere are sweet and pressing at the same time, the melodies and beats fit together in a succession of deep emotions, the “tape” sounds old school and totally irresistible. Pizzico is proud to present MA Spaventi’s VIAGGI: nine exclusive tracks for a brand new album, invoking and evoking dusty Italo vibes, analog synths and written soundtracks for unwritten movies.
Katia – Io Senza Di Te [KATIA001]

First introduced to the modern italo-disco universe by Flemming Dalum in 2011, the rare-beyond-rare original 7″ by Katia remains a holy grail for all but the most obsessive and/or bankrolled collectors. Mothball Record present this official and absolutely faithful repress, with painstakingly restored audio and sleeve by Hysteric and his crack team of italo specialists. The song itself was the final interpretation of “Mistery Woman”, a theme returned to several times by the authors Lupo and De Peppo. However this one is really set apart by the unique and unforgettable vocal performance by Katia, aged just 17 at the time of this record. As well as the original Vocal and Instrumental versions, a new extended edit has been made by Hysteric for contemporary DJs wishing to keep the flame burning a little longer.
Albion – Pyramids [MME5005]

Albion, the “continental Disco” King, is back on Macadam Mambo with a new EP, reinforcing, with those 4 killer nuggets, that he is definitely the boss to put out weirdo obscurities. And giving us again, the feeling that the level of the tracks is getting higher record after record.

Ideomatic – Körperkontrol EP [ENDILL004]

Prague’s Endless Illusion is stepping up with very first 12″ release, debut EP from French producer Ideomatic with remix by Kid Machine. Strongly influenced by giallo soundtracks with a heavy dose of dance ammunition.
Garofano Rosso – Garofano Rosso [GD009]

Garofano Rosso is the latest project by Italian producer Giorgio Luceri. This new work eschews the house stylings of previous releases in favour of a more classic Cosmic approach. Echoes of Tangerine Dream’s Thief OST mixed with what could perhaps be the imaginary soundtrack to Miami Vice if it had infact been set in Rimini and starred Maurizio Merli as Sonny Crockett. These are not however just mere mood pieces, but take the sun, the sea and the body-count straight to the dancefloor.
Francisco – Notte Horror [SLOMO019]

A special one sided release from Francisco who channels the spirit of John Carpenter and the mysterious ‘Zio Tibia/Uncle Ankle’ (Italians will know who this is!) directly into the dancefloor for a high octane trip through space and time. This is the third release in Slow Motion’s acclaimed soundtrack series.
WET – That’s The Game [STD1201]

An impressive, ahead of the game pre-acid house anthem from 1983. Still relevant almost 30 years later.
Wanexa – The Man From Colours [MIX016]

One of the most in-demand Italo titles of all time: an elusive Rago & Farina penned disco odyssey from ’82. This is strictly limited and will not hang around for long.
De Dupe – Endless Illusion Podcast #11
VA – Heavy Rotation III [DEA003]

The Heavy Rotation crew is finally back with the follow-up to their successful Blackdisco release. As expected they continue to deliver top shelf disco from all four corners of the world. Bernhard Zichler checks in on Flight 77, a quirky leftfield bomb with a Joy Division infectious bassline. Then Ric Piccolo takes us high up in the Pampas sky with the smoking hot Marruecos. On the flip Albion joins forces with El Chad from Greece for a piece of decadent camp action with a glorious ending. To round it all off, Spacelex delivers a dubbed out psychedelic disco stomper.
Malcolm & The Bad Girls – Shoot Me [DSS004]
Sensitive – Driving [DSS001]

Official remastered reissue of the 1984 original recording of this ultra-rare timeless masterpiece.
