Sven Weisemann – Separate Paths EP [121DSR]

A year after his first release on the label, German deepsmith Sven Weisemann is back on Delsin with a sophomore effort entitled Separate Paths. Down for his moody outings on labels like Mojuba and Telrae, this new four track affair continues to mark out the man behind it as a master of atmosphere. Grooves floating in mid air and subtle melodies drift by like half remembered thoughts. Head music that also makes your body move. It may only be four tracks long, but this EP truly takes you on a journey somewhere far away from this world.

Sven Weisemann – Fall Of Icarus EP [DSR/C3]

Delsin’s C-Series welcomes Sven Weisemann. Known for his deep, atmospheric and cuddly house and dub, he draws on the heritage of Detroit and Chicago at the same time as imbuing tracks with his own sense of smoky, jazz infused soul. Fall Of Icarus contains it all, heavenly pads accompanied by rasping basslines, blissful ambient chords, buried deep drum lines and beatless dub excursions. A slowly churning current drives things along as you are left suspended in the midst of it all and this one closes out another superlative EP from both Delsin and Weisemann.

Reno Wurzbacher – The Love You Got [COLOMBAGE003]

The house leaning off shoot of Fachwerk Records hits release number three here with a two track release from Reno Wurzbacher, the ‘housemate cousin’ of the crew who has already turned up on the label a couple of times. First up is the coy melancholia and pillow-y deep house of ‘The Love You Got’. It’s a grainy cut with grey scale textures and sultry voices contained with in the sparse groove. It strikes a nice late night mood before German master of the deep Sven Weisemann turns in his own remix. This version is more upright and weighty, with bulbous synth lines dropping into the mix, which is already awash with rippling pad puddles. Early in the evening, late in the night, either way both tracks here hit their intended mark perfectly….

Nyra – Like This [FDFRAW003]

Cover art - Nyra: Like This

Release from Nyra on Freund Der Familie imprint. A bass-heavy and shuffly monster of a track, “Like This” is bound to ignite any dancefloor, “M For Mother” is equally good with killer chord stabs and a heavy sub bass, while Sven Weisemann rounds the release off with a characteristically deep remix of “M For Mother”.

John Beltran – Kassem Mosse & Sven Weisemann Remixes [87DSR]

In addition to the “Best Of Ambient” compilation from John Beltran, two remixes are made to honour one of our favourite electronic music producers of all time. The a-side gives us a reinterpretation of “Brilliant Flood” from rising star Kassem Mosse together with his studiomate Mix Mup. This remix smoothly pimps up the track whilst leaving the atmosphere of the original intact. On the b-side, Sven Weisemann made a composition as a tribute to John Beltran, which contains elements of different original cuts. The result is Sven’s Glorify Tribute Mix, a dreamy epic adventurous nine-minute masterpiece in three parts

Breathy, atmospheric and yet dynamic electronics on this debut LP byDesolate aka Sven Weisemann , celebrating Fauxpas Musik’s first anniversary. The dark but dynamic sounds of Burial and the spherical spacey atmosphere of Boards of Canada seem to be basic inspiration for Desolate. The album includes nine tracks in total ranging from deeper to more ambient compositions and as a bonus you get a CD version thrown in with two bonus tracks!

Achim Maerz – Channel 04 [FDFRaw01]

Achim Maerz - Channel 04

The debut release on Freund Der Familie Raw has been handed to the unknown Achim Maerz whose only track to date appeared last year on the equally solitary release from the Dérive Schallplatten label. The limelight certainly doesn’t show any weaknesses in his armour. “Channel 04” is driving, edgy and totally catchy dance floor dub techno.
