Assembler Code & Jensen Interceptor – Random Patterns EP [MTRON015]

Assembler Code & Jensen Interceptor are one of electro’s most devastating duos right now. Mechatronica welcome them for four more hard hitting jams after their “Vapour Waves” EP on this label got plenty of people talking. These are tunes with an old school feel that will blow up your bass bins and tear apart your tweeters with their mix of low end heaviness and bright melodic patterns. Superbly urgent drum programming sweeps you off your feet and races you through astral skies on “Noise Theory”, “Otherwise” has a raggedy-ass broken beat and “Day 1” has a blistering bassline of the highest order.

Derailleur – Hydraulic Performer EP [DB001]

Derailleur announces new vinyl label Decade Box, acting as a sonic time capsule, the imprint will present the music honed by the producer over the last 10 years. Hydraulic Performer EP is the first in a series of releases to share the fruits of his dedication to machine made music. The release sets the tone for the label series, showing off two different sides of Derailleur’s production styles. Title track Hydraulic Performer is a raw and cutting rave-primed electro track. Radioactive Man is called up for remix duties, upping the ante with his precision drum programming and unique sonic trademark. Device One rounds up the EP, a wonky, jacking cut warmed up by stepping synths.

BNJMN – Sensei EP [BSRX013]

BNJMN returns to Bright Sounds with Sensei; following on from the foundations laid by his ”Final Network” EP released in the spring of 2018 he again showcases the melodic, yet hypnotic and pulsating side of his sound that he has become renowned for. Starting with the almost house-like ”Soared Above” synths fly over syncopated rhythms which build and then descend into something harsher and earthier.

VA – Djax-Re-Up Vol. 2 [DKMNTL063-2]

The second edition of Dekmantel’s foray into the era-defining, trans-Atlantic, cult techno label that is Djax-Up-Beats, comes another re-issue of classic 90s cuts. Founded in Eindhoven at the turn of the 90s, Djax-Up-Beats quickly earned an international reputation for being a key source of Chicago house, acid techno, and floor-filling, heavy-hitting, straight up underground 12”s. It’s a sound that spawned the sonic aesthetics of today, and can be heard in the left field techno productions of the likes of Bjarki, Salon des Amateurs and other erstwhile analog junkies.” The second re-issue EPs, offer a more introspective look at the label’s earlier releases.

Random XS – Centrifuge [MOS027]

Dutch underground acid-techno act Random XS strikes again with two rugged and authentic dance floor rockers. After a long awaited re-release of their Djax-Up-Beats classic ‘Give Your Body’ last year on Delsin, they return with a pair of fresh and unheard acid jams on the closely related MOS Recordings. Both tracks recorded in the early ’90s, but only recently finalized and improved for heavy club impact. It’s an EP full with gurgling 303 grooves and raw energy in the traditional and energetic Random XS way.

AIR LQD – Repeat Itself [PRECEPT017]

Long overdue, here comes AIR LQD’s first full-length player, “Repeat Itself”, making up for the direct follow-up of his acclaimed vinyl debut released on the label in 2016. Mixing science fiction, social criticism and punk ethics in the most cryptic fashion, the latest entry in the discography of the taciturn Belgian groove-maker sees him pushing further his electronic experimentation. Delving into the meanders of the human consciousness through hazy and abrasive rituals, brainpowered by robotics, artificial intelligence and urban metamorphism. The weird looping echo of a man-machine drifting through a vortex of feral scratches and overworked machinery. Slowly moving towards the event horizon of a supermassive black hole, leading to unexpected aural aberrations full of hidden, past and new meanings. Giving a last disillusioned glance at our human condition facing technological progress and the toxicity of the outside world.

Adam X – Midnight Sun [BITE009]

For the next BITE release, techno legend Adam X makes a rare appearance outside his own seminal Sonic Groove Records with a new EP Midnight Sun. The NYC electronic music pioneer displays his singular approach to the dancefloor by combining old school, bass heavy grooves with forward-thinking cybernetic sound design. Throughout the EP, he lays out the concept of a dystopian timeline in which the Earth is knocked off orbit. Panic ensues as the earth moves closer towards the sun, annihilating all.
