Èlan Vital formed in 2015 in Dunedin’s None Gallery, an artist-run creative community in a former pharmaceutical factory near the city centre. Their sound takes contemporary European cold-wave synth-pop dance music layered on analogue drum machines, then blends in the warm psychedelic organ sounds of 1960s garage rock. Distorted, overdriven bass guitar adds a further element of chaos into the mix. The expression Èlan Vital describes the vital force or impulse of life. The music on “Shadow Self” represents that life impulse in an ambiguous zone between machine and human worlds. A dense claustrophobic swirl of dark dance-tempo synth-pop blooms from gloomy cold industrial dance music with vocoder vocals into uplifting melodic dream-pop catharsis about memory, longing, and obsession.
Martin Dupont – The Lights (Mick Wills Edits) [VSS010]
The edit master strikes again! This is the second Edits EP from Mick Wills on Vielspass/Prego with courtesy of Alain Seghir. “The lights” is a New Wave anthemn carried out by one of the most talented and obscure french band of the eighties : Martin Dupont. Deeply romantic “The Light Goes Through My Mouth” and “He Saw The Light” are enhanced by the Dx7 amazing synths atmospheres, both tracks shaped into Mick Wills stunning club versions. This release is inspired by Natalie Ann’s love for Martin Dupont’s “The Light Goes Through My Mouth”, helped by the magic touch of Isabella Venis associated to Knappy Kaiserknappy for the design / Artwork and thanks to Isolator for the Mastering.
Das Ding – Kindheitsmuster / Raid [MW064]
7” single of two early demos (Kindheitsmuster and Raid) by Dutch electronic music pioneer Das Ding. The final versions of these tracks were released on H.S.T.A. and the Missing Tapes, respectively. The versions here are the most raw and electric recordings we have heard by Das Ding yet.

Nachtzug delivers captivating acid grooves over an analogue trackbed of I.D.M. elegancy. Leipzig’s Possblthings records which is linked to the Possblthings store are doing a stellar job after their first strong release by Robyrt Hecht. This 2nd release is guaranteed to warm your hardware-driven hearts with its multifaceted tracks from uplifting braindance to spaced-out electro. Fans of DMX Krew, MNLTH, CPU Records and the likes are in for a treat!
The Other People Place Ft. Mystic Tribe A.i. – Sunday Night Live At The Laptop Cafe [CAL010/C#27]
One of the two The Other People Place releases (the Warp full length and this 12). Drexciyan involvement in this classic release is obvious. One of the deepest and intense tracks with such a warm positive vibe. Flipside contains a track by Mystic Tribe. (not very mystical of course for those who know the history of Detroit techno. Unique track from a unique project… and there are not many projects with Tribe in its name. Their release on Retroactive is one Detroit techno collector items). One of those records that get you through the day. Re-issue on the Clone Aqualung Series with new artwork.

TNT – Analogue Acid Project 3 [RBTNT001]
Third time is a charm. The Analogue Acid Project by Todd Osborn and Tadd Mullinix resulted in two records in 2005 and 2006 that excelled at the fabrication of gritty acid jak tracks ow, Todd N Tadd alias TNT aka the dynamite duo finally returns. Their third outing and first one on Running Back, is a detonative reunion of old and new friends. With two previously unreleased beat tracks on one side plus carefully tailored reissues of Hotness (from the blue record) and Beat This House (from the red record), you get a box of dynamite sticks in various sizes for different situations. More than ten years later and still as explosive.

Mono No Aware is the first compilation to be released on PAN, collating unreleased ambient tracks from both new and existing PAN artists. Featuring Jeff Witscher, Helm, TCF, Yves Tumor, M.E.S.H., Pan Daijing, HVAD, Kareem Lotfy, ADR, Mya Gomez, Sky H1, James K, Oli XL, Bill Kouligas, Flora Yin-Wong, Malibu, and AYYA, the compilation moves through more traditional notions of what is called ‘ambient’, to incorporating wider variations that fall under the term. ‘Mono No Aware’, ‘the pathos of things’, also translates as ‘an empathy toward things’, or ‘a sensitivity to ephemera’. A term for the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things. A meditation on mortality and life’s transience, ephemerality heightens the appreciation of beauty and sensitivity to their passing. In investigating the passing of time, the boundaries between memory and hallucination become blurred; between fiction and reality. The movement of time transforms into an eternal present..

Black Mesa is the first single from Biosphere´s forthcoming album The Petrified Forest. Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen (born 30 May 1962), a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient electronic music. He is well known for his works on ambient techno and arctic themed pieces, his use of music loops, and peculiar samples from sci-fi sources. His 1997 album Substrata was voted by the users of the Hyperreal website in 2001 as the best all-time classic ambient album.
