Serge @ Clone Basement Session, Fabric (London) 29.11.2011

After Conforce’s tight album release on Delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by Gesloten Cirkel for the title track). At first sight these tracks dont have much in common… and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. It will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. Grain, Be There At Night, 24 and 24 remixed by Gesloten Cirkel. This is probably as versatile as a Clone Basement release can get.

Versalife’s Night Time Activities part 3, with four more deep intense atmospheric electro techno tracks.

New Geeeman release on Jack For Daze sublabel. Proper jacking tracks firmly rooted in the good old Chi-town history of raw and banging house tracks.

Arttu aka Lump would be jamming in his Lisbon studio with Detroit’s Jerry the Cat! These tracks are the perfect first collaboration between Arttu, Jerry the Cat and Clone records!! Playful and funky old schoolish house tracks with the joyfull vocals of Mr Cat all recorded during some live sessions in Lisbon where they both reside. Arttu went back to some intuitive drum programming for these live sessions and made simple funky drum machine patterns around nice hypnotic basslines. Vocals and additional percussion still have some of that live feel after the tracks have been arranged and mixed.

Two producers on duty for Gerd’s Palm Leaves remixes. Sometimes an amazing track like Palm Leaves just screams for a rework by someone who really could do something nice with it. And this seems to be the perfect remix duo… Larry Heard aka Mr Fingers and Deetron. One for the body and one for the soul!

Untold bridging the gap between UK bass music and the more 4/4 spectrum of music on the new Clone Basement Series release.

From the Mind of Erik! Dropping the dopest tunes since 1987, Erik is back on the radar in 2011 with these 4 brand new tunes! This gets every Detroit party started and if you are not to stiff in the hips you’ll be shaking your ass on these crazy tunes. Pumping 808, Erik on the mic, silly ass beats, funky basslines… no hype break downs, no magic computer tricks… just solid rocking tracks the new old school way. What else do we need? All you got to do is turn it up!

Clone Royal Oak continues its adventures in house music with Gerd. This is a rework of a track he did two year ago and somehow never finnished until now! Vocals are by Dr. Orion (aka OlivierDaysoul). On the flipside there is a stripped dub mix done by Serge & Tyrell

Versalife’s Night Time Activities part 2 is taking us further down deep into the night. Versalife is creating a setting with sounds radiating the midnight atmosphere that reflects the twin peak-esque life on a almost deserted windy dutch coastal island where the clouds rush through the dark night time skies projecting all variations of grey and black on the mystifying dunes. Futuristic electro techno tracks with emotive synth work created with exploratory imagination.

Two tracks produced by Alden Tyrell without the intention to release them or do anything with it beside using them a few times for a live set. Two basic chicago house trax ready to be played out loud!

New release on Clone Basement Series by Dexter. Merging his trademark sharp electro and funk inspired sound with chopped up vocal snippets with a more techno-ish feel and some phat low-end.

Second release on Clone Shop Only Series coming from an unknown project called Vernon Felicity.

The first release on Clone’s new series Shop Only Series. The debut release comes from the Legowelt.

Murphy Jax returns with his 2nd twelve inch for Clone with some retro Chicago inspired tracks. Comes with one of those rare remixes by Orgue Electronique.

Debut release on Clone Royal Oak by Morning Factory. Two tracks that go somewhere between the old and the new school with phat bass lines, filtered stabs, blissful keys and joyful piano and a cheeky vocal on the b-side cut. All that combined with slightly slower pace, powerful production.
