After two years since the first vinyl release in 2010, Other Heights is proud to announce the tenth vinyl release, released as 3 seperate EP´s. The third EP is a selection of inspiring and eclectic artists, from Ukraine to Belgium, over the ocean to America and back to the roots of the UK itself. Expect a blend of future bass, garage and house influences by J. Tijn, VVV, Ozka, Myztical and Brim.
The second release from Daniel Andréasson on Tabernacle Records, continues in his engaging style of endless rhythms and nostalgic melodies, produced under heavy influence of hot baths and regular espressos.
Nick Sinna has been on the radar lately with his debut release for Prime Numbers “PN 13”. Sticking to the dark corners of the dance floor as of late, the label has commissioned the spaced out bass child, Conforce and Spectral’s secret weapon, James T Cotton to add their touch with edits on 2 of the tracks. Conforce takes Sinna’s “Real Time” further down the worm hole, adding molten pressure to the percussion, and cutting up the vocal to reinforce “time seems to feel more slow”; while the acid warrior himself, James T Cotton stays true to his roots on his rework of “Voyager”, taking the edge off the snap and slicking the groove down to a more deep, melodic trip.
New label by Ben Sims and Kirk Degiorgio. Entitled, appropriately enough, Machine, the EP sees Degiorgio deliver the deep melodicism of “Machine Theme”, while Sims contributes one of his typically twisted productions in the shape of “Metal Works”, an alienating slice of prickly techno. To round it off, Sims remixes “Machine Theme”, concentrating on a tough 909 rhythm.
This is the 4th Black Catalogue release. “Through The Galaxies” was originally released on the ‘Modern Underground Music’ sampler. This version is a full release with remixes by both Lucy from Stroboscopic and Shigeto from Ghostly.
Best known for his releases across Bunker, Delsin, W.T. Recordings and more under the shark loving $tinkworx moniker, US producer JT Stewart is retaining the Drexciyan themes that ran through that recent 12inch while reining in some of the dread filled textures that permeated its every pore in favour of a more classicist take on the Detroit Utopian techno vision.
“It’s been four years since my last own EP on Stockholm LTD. The main reason for this is that I have been surrounded by music that has inspired me much more than my own. This EP was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount of frustration. I was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it appeared with a strength that I havent felt for long time. Im now curious for more. While sketching the title track, “Wyatt Arp”, I couldnt get Detroit legend, Terrence Dixon, out of my mind. Terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths. I had to ask him to do a rework.” / Par Grindvik

Theo Parrish’s second visit to Running Back is all new material – almost. Black Mist in its extended version is just that: an extended take of the already released version on the rare-as-hens’-teeth Sketches pack. Previously unreleased and no less persuasive are Pop Off and Wild Out. While the first one centers around an endless piano and sucks you into the magic of repetition, the second one sounds like a Theo Parrish demo for Dance Mania after he came back from listening to Lil Louis at the Bismark Pavilion.
