In a city like Munich it’s hard to rent an extra room for a studio due the extremely high prices, so we all have bedroom studios with the advantage that we can do music whenever we feel to. However our Stressin turkish Neighbour behaves like the pain in the ass of the whole neighbourhood. But we all have a Vision and the Night gives us the support we need to create our own space and our own time within our own spirit on 180 g vinyl from now on with a vinyl only cut on every 12″.
Paul Mac is one of the UK’s real techno veterans, a producer with a sizeable back catalogue spanning a variety of sounds. For this EP, a taster for an album of the same name, he focuses on deep, Detroit techno, but with a twist. The title track is a driving affair, but Mac lends it a musical sound with evocative, breezy chords combined with dramatic string stabs. “Undoubted” sees him go down a more tracky route and its heads-down groove veers close to militaristic, but he keeps it on the right side thank to the clanging drums and crashing percussion. Marcel Fengler also contributes an excellent, wobbly bass-led version of “Insomnia”.

Lost in vaults until now “Panna Cotta” resurfaced of a CD Mathew made for friends in 2003. As fate would have it though it would be the first out of hundreds of CD’s only labeled “2003″ that Mathew picked from the box in his search. Here at IIWII we believe heavily in synchronicity. “Spring Toy” is an elegant A-side crafted with classic house influences in mind. Meandering casually before beginning its ascent into deepspace territory, Detroit styled synth lines and intricate melodies hang above a funky undertone which hooks from the off. Continuing its cosmic trajectory, the EP’s B-sides set their coordinates into dub techno regions. “Lindberg”s quirky astral synths and futuristic soundscape trigger a dream-like state…think sci-fi beams and interplanetary navigation and you’re half way there. “Shudder” is a more up-tempo sonic excursion, propelled by its galloping techno rhythms. The ebb and flow of trippy pads and crystalline waves play to the senses.
The long overdue 10 track debut album from Marcellus Pittman on his own label Unirhythm. Includes some tracks that were vinyl only previously, as well as about 5 new tracks, including a Jamie 326 edit. Pittman is one of Detroit’s hidden gems of production. A talent with an unmistakeable sound that is undeniably his own.
