Kovyazin D – Dark Shades Of Moscow EP [S108-006]

KOVYAZIN D - Dark Shades Of Moscow EP

‘Dark Shades Of Moscow’ EP is a new thriller by Kovyazin D. The track list is headed by a remix of the French hero of electroclash and EBM music – David Carretta. As Dima describes, this release is dedicated to work in solitude, analog synthesizers, secrets and the secret places in Moscow, as well as the utopianism and psychedelicity of everything going on in the world today. Many years of meticulously studying different genres of electronic music, from acid house, electro and new beat to Birmingham techno, industrial and Rotterdam hardcore, have allowed Kovyazin D to form his own unique sound, that you can witness in his live shows and DJ sets. According to the Inverted Audio publication Kovyazin D’s music is so universal it can be easily heard in the culmination points of Helena Hauff and Nicolas Lutz sets. His bangers ‘Close The Distance’ and ‘Tales From The Bottle’ are a clear example of that.

Terrestrial Access Network – Distant Lands EP [LDI004]

TERRESTRIAL ACCESS NETWORK - Distant Lands EP

For their 4th release LDI Records present the debut solo EP from Texan electro producer Terrestrial Access Network – Distant Lands. The release is drawn from the artist’s shifting and hectic nomadic existence around the rattling expanse of the United States presenting 5 original cerebral electro tracks, backed up with a spooked out remix from Delsin Records’ Versalife aka Conforce. Based in Austin, Texas, a city famous for its hyper-vibrant creative musical scene, Terrestrial Access Network feeds from the energy of this environment just as much as the desert that surrounds it. His day to day life involves travelling for near constant work projects – spending days and weeks away from home in what is a hectic lifestyle. In the feelings he channels when writing Distant Lands – he is pulled back towards the energy of the serene and calm landscape while on the road dealing with an unsettled nature of life and his profession. Terrestrial Access Network began releasing music as recently as 2019 with tracks picked up for compilations on Swiss label Dionysian Mysteries. With a sound that is expert at creating powerfully immersive heads down moments for the dancefloor TAN has driven this EP with an ever present and intoxicating mechanical funk.

Exhausted Modern – Deform | Reform [MRG012]

After first appearing on MRG010, Czech artist Exhausted Modern is back on Marguerite Records with a solo EP called “Deform | Reform”. A side opens up with the dreamy electro-ish “Giving form to chaos”, followed by the high tension ambient-techno cut “The self unselving”; A3 is a trippy oddball slow-tempo jams called “Old disguises”. B side unwraps with “De creatura” and “Riddles of creation”, respectively on B1 and B2: the Endless Illusion boss crafted two ambient cuts characterized by haunting soundscapes, weird voices cut ups and deep basslines. The title track ”Deform _ Reform” closes the EP in a Sabres of Paradise-esque manner with a communion of dub and industrial rhythmics and patterns.

Dmitry Distant – Cold [GOD-S1]

DMITRY DISTANT - Cold

Latvian electronic producer Dmitry Distant is expanding further his sound palette with his new 2-track ‘Cold’ single, continuing his musical journey beyond pure ‘electro’ genre. The release clearly marks a new page in Dmitry’s artistic story – in his electronic reinterpretation of The Cure’s iconic song, Dmitry is giving the classic track a darker twist, with pounding reverberated drums and piercing yet soulful vocals by Valeria Simonova, paying tribute to his goth and new wave background. ‘Zenith’ is a majestic John Carpenter-esque synth anthem – the track can easily be imagined to accompany opening titles of a dystopian sci-fi blockbuster, with stark melodic synthesizer lines and minimalistic yet inventive structure.
